Prof. Ali Mohammad Sharifi is a scholar with over 27 years of experience in Molecular Pharmacology at the Iran University of Medical Sciences and currently joined as a professor of regenerative Medicine in the Tissue Engineering Group at NOCERAL, department of Orthopedics Surgery, School of Medicine. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Glasgow in 1992 and in 2018, he further enriched his expertise by acquiring a Tissue Banking Diploma from the National University of Singapore. Throughout his career, Prof. Sharifi has undertaken international research, including working at McGill University in Canada and at Max Plank Institute in Germany. His research output includes over 100 publications in high-impact journals, along with several patented innovations. He has held various administrative and editorial roles in academia, and has served as a peer reviewer for numerous high-impact journals. His dedication to education is evident through his mentorship of undergraduate and postgraduate students, particularly Ph.D. candidates specializing in molecular medicine, tissue engineering, molecular pharmacology, and cell therapy. Prof. Sharifi's research expertise involves the fields of cell therapy and regenerative Pharmacology, with a particular emphasis on translational medicine. His extensive body of work includes pioneering studies on pharmacological priming, therapeutic angiogenesis, and innovative strategies to enhance the effectiveness of stem cell therapy by manipulating HIF-1α stabilization, especially in the context of diabetes. Additionally, his research activities include bone and cartilage regeneration, employing a diverse array of strategies such as stem cells and biologically derived products like amniotic membrane extract and mesenchymal stem cell-derived secretome. He has also explored the potential of herbal agents in regenerative medicine. His contributions extend to the development of custom-made bio-implants for addressing large bone defects and the design and production of various wound dressings, with a specific focus on diabetic wound healing. In recent times, Prof. Sharifi has harnessed the transformative power of CRISPR gene editing technology to combat synovial fibrosis induced by osteoarthritis. show more »Farrah Dina Yusop is a distinguished academic and expert in instructional design and technology, online learning, and curriculum innovation. She holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instructional Technology (CIT) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) from Iowa State University (USA). She previously served as Director of Universiti Malaya’s Academic Enhancement and Leadership Development Center (ADeC), where she led institutional initiatives in online learning implementation and academic professional development. Internationally recognised for her scholarship in instructional design, technology-enhanced learning, innovative curriculum, and service-learning, she is best known for her Civic-Minded Instructional Designer (CMID) framework, which redefines how professionals are educated to contribute meaningfully to society. Her work has been published extensively in leading international and Malaysian journals, shaping discourse in instructional design and higher education. Her 2014 article in the British Journal of Educational Technology (BJET) received the Outstanding Journal Article Award from the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), USA, an international recognition of the scholarly and practical impact of her research. She has authored over 73 journal articles, including 46 in high-impact journals, alongside more than 30 book chapters and 7 academic books. Her publications span instructional design, technology-enhanced learning, online education, and curriculum innovation, consistently translating theory into authentic, evidence-based educational practice. Her most recent and impactful recognitions include AKRI 2025, being a finalist for the Anugerah Akademik Negara (AAN) 2025, Malaysia’s highest national academic award, and recipient of Universiti Malaya’s Outstanding Academic Staff Award in the Social Sciences & Humanities category 2025. Earlier in her career, she received the International Outstanding Woman in Humanities and Social Sciences Award (2018) and AKRI 2018, in addition to multiple Universiti Malaya excellence awards in teaching and research. Dr. Farrah serves on international editorial boards, including MOJEM (a Scopus-indexed journal), and regularly contributes as an international and national external examiner. She is an invited keynote and guest speaker at conferences, seminars, and professional training programmes at both national and international levels. She has held strategic appointments on influential committees at international and national levels, including the Asia University Network–Technology Enhanced Personalised Learning (AUN-TEPL), the Malaysian e-Learning IPTA Council (MEIPTA), and the Majlis Kerjasama Ketua-ketua Pusat Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran IPTA Malaysia (MAGNETIC). She currently serves as a member of the Strategic Committee for Service-Learning Malaysia (SULAM), Ministry of Higher Education. Actively engaged in transdisciplinary research, she collaborates with scholars and industry partners across diverse fields such as healthcare, digital skills development, talent management, and professional education. Through major international initiatives, including Erasmus+ projects involving global university consortia, she continues to advance innovation, societal engagement, and excellence in higher education.
