DR. NURDIANA BINTI NORDIN

DR.-ING Nurdiana Nordin received her B.Sc. (field: Pure Chemistry) under Biasiswa Khas Tenaga Akademik (BKTA) Scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia in 2012 and her M.Sc. (Field: Organic and Computational Chemistry) under SLAB Scholarship in 2015 from Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After graduation, she joined the Institute of Microstructure Technology (IMT) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Karlsruhe, Germany, in 2016 under the supervision of Dr. Neil MacKinnon and Dr. Vlad Badilita in the group of Prof. Jan G. Korvink. At the same time, she also joined the Bio-Interfaces Graduate International School (BIF-IGS) at the Institut für Biologische Grenzflächen, IBG. She received her PhD degree in 2020 from BIF-IGS and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, KIT. In Karlsruhe, she was trained in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technology and clean room fabrication of microfluidic devices. She had extensive laboratory work that included electrochemical systems, microfluidic fabrication processes, bioorganic synthesis, biopolymer surface modification, and the NMR techniques. Her research interests include NMR development, bioorganic mechanisms, biomedical microsystems (BioMEMS - sensor), organ on-a-chip, flexible electronics and metabolomic studies.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. NURIN WAHIDAH BINTI MOHD ZULKIFLI

Dr. Nurin Wahidah binti Mohd Zulkifli is an esteemed Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. She holds a distinguished academic background, having earned her Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, followed by a Master’s degree (MSc.Eng) from Monash University, Australia, and a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Tribology from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. Dr. Zulkifli's expertise lies in combustion and fuel engineering (tribology), which is reflected in her impressive scholarly contributions. With a remarkable publication record of 112 research articles in both national and international journals, she has garnered 3868 citations and an H-index of 38. Furthermore, she has exhibited exemplary mentorship by successfully supervising several PhD and master students from various countries. Her significant impact in the field was recognized in 2020 when she was acknowledged for ranking among the top 2% of researchers for the most cited documents in engineering by Web of Science and Clarivate Analytics. Dr. Zulkifli has also played a pivotal role in securing and managing numerous grant projects as the head of internal and external grants. Notably, she is an active collaborator, forging partnerships with researchers in the United Kingdom, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia for grants, joint research efforts, and paper writing. Her collaborative endeavors extend to esteemed organizations such as PROTON, PETRONAS Research, DUCOM, MPOB, and researchers from local universities.

PROF. SR TS. DR. AZLAN SHAH BIN ALI

Professor Azlan Shah Ali, PhD FRISM FRICS FCABE Reg BS   Prof. Azlan Shah Ali is a highly accomplished academic and practitioner specializing in building surveying and construction management. Currently, he holds the prestigious position of Professor in the Department of Building Surveying and serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Built Environment at Universiti Malaya (UM) in Kuala Lumpur. His academic journey at UM began in 2004, and his dedication and expertise led to his promotion to the rank of full professor in July 2013, making him one of the youngest professors at the university. In addition to his role at UM, Prof. Azlan is a Visiting Professor at the School of Built Environment at Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom, contributing his extensive knowledge and experience to the global academic community. Throughout his career, he has held various leadership positions within UM's academic administration, including Dean, Acting Dean, Deputy Dean, and Head of the Department of the Faculty of Built Environment. Before entering academia, he gained valuable industry experience in the building sector, starting in 1998. In 2020, Prof. Azlan was appointed as the Director for Building Surveying at Unit Perundingan Universiti Malaya Sdn Bhd (UPUM Sdn Bhd), UM's consultancy arm. Under his leadership, UPUM Sdn Bhd secured ten significant Building Condition Assessment (BCA) consultation projects from the Malaysian government, totalling over RM6 million, highlighting his expertise in building condition assessment. He earned his PhD from Universiti Teknologi MARA, specializing in building refurbishment, with a research focus on building maintenance and refurbishment management strategies. Prof. Azlan has a substantial track record, with involvement in numerous academic research and consultancy projects, securing more than RM6 million in funding. Noteworthy collaborations include software development projects with Spanish companies CYPE, totalling over RM2.5 million. He has a prolific publication record, with over 200 peer-reviewed technical contributions in journals, proceedings, and books. Prof. Azlan's outstanding contributions to education and research have been recognized with awards such as the University of Malaya's Best Lecturers Award in 2012 and the Excellence Service Award from UM, received three times for his significant contributions to teaching and research. He also boasts an impressive array of professional credentials and holds esteemed titles such as Fellow of The Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (FRISM), Fellow of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, UK (FRICS) and Fellow of The Chartered Association of Building Engineers, UK (FCABE). His commitment to the profession is further demonstrated by his 15-year tenure as a committee member, including the role of secretary, for the Building Surveying Division of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM).
