ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. KOH PENG SOON

Dr Koh Peng Soon graduated in 2002 with MBBS from the International Medical University. He first gained experience in Surgery working as a medical officer in the Department of Surgery, Hospital Taiping right after internship where he obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCSEd), UK in 2005. He joined University of Malaya in 2006 for postgraduate training and graduated with Masters of Surgery (MSurg) in 2010. He worked as a General Surgeon in Hospital Sungai Buloh after graduation before rejoining University of Malaya as a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Specialist in 2011 for sub-specialty training and his interest in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery.   In October 2013 to September 2014, he spent a year as a Fellow and Honorary Clinical Associate at the Division of Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery and Liver Transplantation, Queen Mary Hospital, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong which is world renowned.               His interest in HPB field involves HPB malignancies, minimal invasive surgery (MIS) and liver transplantation. Besides clinical duties, he is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as research and already has several publications to his name.               He received his promotion to Associate Professorship in early 2019 and  is currently the Head of Division of General Surgery and HPB Unit & Liver Transplantation and work as a Consultant Surgeon in the Department of Surgery, University of Malaya Medical Centre.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. ROSHIDAH BINTI HASSAN

Roshidah Hassan is an Associate Professor at the Department of Asian Languages. From 2018 to 2022, she served as the Deputy Dean (Undergraduate). Prior to that, she was the head of the Asian and European Languages Department. She graduated from University Malaya with a Bachelor of Arts in Malay Studies (Linguistics) in 1994, the University of La Rochelle in France with a Diploma in French Studies in 2000, the University of Poitiers in France with a Master of Teaching French as a Foreign Language in 2003, and the University of Malaya with a PhD (UM) in 2010. Her areas of expertise are language learning, phonology, and phonetics. She teaches French syntax, morphology, phonetics, and phonology. Her fields of research include language acquisition, ethnolinguistics, and phonetics and phonology. Her current research focuses on documenting the Orang Asli languages and how Malaysian pupils learn French sounds. She also conducts studies on the preservation of Portuguese Creole in Malacca.

DR. MARINI NURBANUM BINTI MOHAMAD

DR. MARINI NURBANUM MOHAMAD is presently a senior lecturer in the Department of Decision Science at the Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya. She obtained her PhD degree from Cranfield University, United Kingdom in the area of global supply chain management, focusing on framework development to improve global sourcing strategy implementation. She has a Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration from Universiti Malaya. Throughout her academic career she has developed her research interests in the areas of supply chain management, global sourcing and operations management. She has published and presented her research work in various journals and conferences locally and internationally, including United Kingdom, New Zealand, Netherlands, and Spain. To date, she is also actively involved in consultancy projects with public and private organisations.
