PROF. DR. JENNIFER ANN HARIKRISHNA

Prof. Dr. Jennifer Ann Harikrishna is a Professor of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics at the Faculty of Science, University of Malaya, Malaysia. Prof. Jenni is a British citizen with permanent residence status in Malaysia. After completing her Bachelor of Sciences degree in Microbiology at the University of Surrey, U.K. she was awarded a Whitbread Scholarship to pursue her doctoral thesis on the molecular genetics of industrial yeast at the Cranfield Institute of Technology, Cranfield University, U.K. She graduated in 1990 winning the Chancellors Gold Medal for the most outstanding graduate student of the year. Dr. Jenni then moved to the U.S.A. to take up a two year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Jenni moved to Malaysia in 1991 where she continued her post doctoral research at the University of Malaya, Department of Biology, before joining TropBio Research Sdn Bhd, a small private plant biotechnology company in 1996. In 2001 she joined the Institute of Bioscience at University Putra Malaysia (UPM) as an Associate Professor. Prior to re-joining the University of Malaya in 2006, Dr Jenni was an Associate Professor of Biotechnology at the Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST). Prof. Jenni became a full Professor at the University of Malaya in 2011 and holds joint positions as a member of the Faculty of Science and as the Director of the Centre for Research in Biotechnology for Agriculure (CEBAR), University of Malaya. Prof. Jenni also holds a current appointment as an Honorary Visiting Fellow in the Department of Genetics and Genome Biology at the University of Leicester, UK. Her current research focus is on functional genomics and biotechnology for tropical crop improvemnt.

DR. NOOR AQSA NABILA BINTI MAT ISA

Dr. Aqsa Isa is a Senior Lecturer based in the Department of English Language, Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia and Research Associate at Rabdan Academy, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).Her teaching and scholarly interests are focused on the areas of Critical Discourse Studies, Social Semiotics and Multimodality. She is interested in multidisciplinary work and research involving (violent) extremism and (de) radicalisation, especially on social media, as well as religion and politics, among others. As a linguist, she has looked at various violent extremist and far right propaganda materials, exploring and understanding the ideologies and linguistic strategies used to garner support and attract potential followers. She is also exploring the recruitment, radicalisation as well as the reintegration processes, in which she has worked closely with former detainees, their family members and various local and international agencies. In addition, Dr. Aqsa has been invited as a speaker and resource person in various Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) programmes by agencies such as the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs (Security Division), Malaysian public universities, civil society organisations, the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the SEA Women Peacebuilders Network.  Currently, she is also the faculty's student mobility coordinator. Her main responsibilities include designing and implementing student mobility programs, promoting and recruiting students, providing support throughout the mobility experience, coordinating communication, and evaluating program effectiveness. Her goal is to enhance students' international experiences, promote cultural exchange, and contribute to their personal and academic development. ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. MUHAMMAD FAIZAL BIN A. GHANI

    Muhammad Faizal A. Ghani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Management, Administration and Policy, Faculty of Education, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. His expertise is Educational Leadership focusing on Educational Management and Administration, and School Finance. His expertise is for the benefit of society by sharing some academic knowledge, skills, and value in the forms of reading material such as publishing nine academic books and two hunderd articles. His latest academic book entitled “Professional Learning Communities:  Theories and Practices”. In terms of delivering an academic speech, he has been selected to be keynote speakers and invited speakers for some international and national conferences, seminars, and workshops. In the research area, besides being an evaluator for research proposals of his university’s academic staff, he has been awarded more than USD80,000 research grants for his interest in Effective School, Educational Leadership, School Finance, and Principalship. Therefore, all experiences of him are put in the shape of a journal namely Journal of Educational Leadership by appointing him as an editor besides being an editorial board for some international journals like Bannu University Research Journal in Education, Journal of Economics and Finance, European Journal of Educational and Social Sciences and International Journal of Education Teaching and Learning.
