PROF. DR. ROHAIDA BINTI MOHD SAAT

Dr Rohaida Mohd. Saat is an honorary professor at the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Faculty of Education, University of Malaya. She was the former dean at the faculty and before that, she was the Head of Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit, Quality Management Enhancement Centre (QMEC), University of Malaya.  She received her Bachelor Degree and Master’s degree from Indiana University, USA and PhD degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She also holds a certificate in Qualitative Research Methods from The University of Georgia, USA. Her area of specialization and research is in science education, teacher education and qualitative research methodology. She headed several research projects in the area of science education, funded by various agencies. She has authored and co-authored several books, articles and research reports in the area of science education and education in general.  She has also served as Editorial Boards of Eurasia Journal of Science, Mathematics and Technology Education, European Journal of STEM Education and Journal of Science and Mathematics in Southeast Asia. She has served the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) as a MyRA Auditor and on the panel of evaluators for MOHE research grants. She is a trained ISO auditor and the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUNQA) lead academic programme assessor.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. ASYRAF ISYRAQI BIN JAMIL

Asyraf Isyraqi Bin Jamil is a Senior Lecturer at Islamic Education Programme, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. Previously, he worked as Substitute Teacher at Sek. Men. Keb. Sg. Layar, Sungai Petani, Kedah and Instructional Designer for Arabic language courses at Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU), Shah Alam, Selangor. He was born in Kedah on April 30, 1984 (29 Rajab 1404 AH). His educational journey started at Islamic primary school of Ma'had al-Tarbiyyah al-Islamiyyah Dar al-Ma'arif, Sungai Petani, Kedah. Then, he attended Islamic secondary schools of Da'irah al-Ma'arif al-Wataniyyah (DMW), Kepala Batas, S.P.U., Pulau Pinang as well as Maktab Mahmud, Alor Setar, Kedah to complete his secondary education. He received the Arabic Language Certificate from Pusat Bahasa Arab, Nilam Puri, Kelantan and Diploma of Islamic Studies from Madrasah al-Hidayah and Majmak Ilmi Ali (MINDA), both in Sungai Petani, Kedah to start his educational journey at higher level. He continued his study and graduated with honors from al-Azhar University (Tafahna al-Ashraf Branch), Egypt and Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia, both in Islamic Studies. He was then offered to further study under scholarship of IPTA Academic Training Scheme from Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia and University of Malaya, before embarking on his career at the university itself. He is now a PhD-graduate from University of Malaya with areas of expertise in thought, institution, history, administration, and comparative of Islamic education. Born as a Malaysian, he is absolutely a native speaker of Malay language. He also speaks Arabic and English, both as his second intermediate languages. Moreover, he has the basic knowledge pertaining Persian, Turkish, and Mandarin languages.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. MD AZALANSHAH BIN MD SYED

Md Azalanshah Md Syed is an Associate Professor at the Department of Media and Communication Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies (1st class) from University of Malaya; Master of Creative Arts (Screen Production) from Flinders University; and PhD in Communication Studies from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. In recent years, he has served as Coordinator for the Master of Media Studies Programme (2015–2016; 2024-2026), Head of Department (2017–2021), Editor-in-Chief of Jurnal Pengajian Media Malaysia (2020-2025), Deputy Dean of Value Creation and Enterprise (2022–2024), Deputy Dean of Development (2024–2025), Member of the Malaysia–Korea Research Centre (2021–2024), Coordinator for UMHealth Branding & Promotion (2025) and Coordinator for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programme, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (2025–2027). He teaches Media, Culture and Society as well as Screen Production with special interest in documentary filmmaking and pre-production research. His documentary project on Mak Yong (2015) and Sultan Abu Bakar of Johore (2006) was funded by FINAS and Ministry of Arts, Cultural and Heritage. His research interests cover the fields of Asian popular culture mainly on soap opera/serial television drama, gender issues and Malay studies. Currently, he involves in ongoing research project on lifestyle, vaping addiction and drug abuse among teenagers in Malaysia. His authored and co-authored articles has appeared in various high impacts academic journals. In 2021, his interdisciplinary research team won silver award and award of merit in Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE2021) with their mobile application, CHD self-care that was designed for Coronary Heart Disease patient’s prescribed rehabilitation. It is a medical humanities project funded by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) under the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS). Md Azalanshah was appointed as the coordinator of the Journalism on Campus programme (2011-2013) - industry collaboration between the New Straits Times, University of Malaya and Ministry of Higher Education; Syndicated Screening Panel for TV Program Acquisition, Radio Television Malaysia (RTM); Associate Member - The Communications and Multimedia Content Forum; and member of the Research Fund Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Higher Education (2020-2021). His community involvement was highlighted through an industry+NGO collaboration between the Institut Onn Jaafar, Department of Media and Communication Studies and Astro Awani for the Merdeka63 Campaign #KitajagaMalaysia PSA video series in conjunction with Malaysia's 63rd Independence Day celebration. https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/kitajagamalaysia.
