ASSOCIATE PROF. SR DR. NORHAYATI BINTI MAHYUDDIN

Dr. Norhayati is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Malaya in Malaysia. Holding a PhD from the University of Reading, UK, awarded in 2011 under the Indoor Environment and Energy Research Group, she has cultivated a strong academic and research background. In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Norhayati holds the position of Registered Building Surveyor and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Malaysia (MRISM), bringing a practical and professional dimension to her research. Her leadership journey in academia encompasses her role as the Deputy Dean (Development) for the Faculty of Built Environment presently and prior roles as the Head of the Department of Building Surveying and the Head of the Research Unit for Building Science & Performance at the Faculty of Built Environment, University of Malaya, from 2014 to 2018. Currently, she holds the position of Deputy Dean (Development) for the faculty. Her research contributions extend beyond academia, with active participation in SIRIM International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as a Technical Committee of ISO/TC 146/SC2 for “IAQ and Workplace Atmospheres”. Dr. Norhayati has been actively involved in cutting-edge research in the fields of Indoor Environmental Quality and Zero Energy Buildings securing both national and international grants to support her research endeavors. Her work encompasses innovative approaches to enhancing indoor air quality, ventilation systems, and optimizing building energy and thermal performance. Her exceptional research efforts have earned her several awards, including the University of Malaya Excellence Service Award, Gold Awards at diverse International Research Innovation Competitions and the prestigious Hitachi Research Fellowship Award from The Hitachi Scholarship Foundation Japan. Demonstrating a notable research impact, she has published over 60 research articles with more than 1000 citations.

DR. FATIN NUR MAJDINA BINTI NORDIN

Fatin Nur Majdina Nordin is a senior lecturer in the Programme of Applied Science with Islamic Studies at the Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya. Her academic work focuses on integrating scientific knowledge with Islamic principles, particularly in the areas of hygiene, health, and halal science. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Science with Islamic Studies (BAScIStud) majoring in Biohealth Science, and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Medicine (Dentistry and Islamic Studies), where she examined the use of Salvadora persica (miswak) in oral health care. She later pursued a PhD in Science, Technology, and Health, focusing on cosmetic safety, where she explored the risks of cosmetic ingredients and the effectiveness of product labels in communicating ingredient risks. Her research interests include health and well-being, halal science, hygiene and environmental health, knowledge integration, and the role of women in Islam. In addition to her academic contributions, she is involved in initiatives related to mental hygiene awareness, environmental sustainability, and women's empowerment within the framework of Islamic principles. Her work aims to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of science and its applications within an Islamic context, fostering interdisciplinary research and education.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. TAN KIT MUN

Associate Professor Dr Tan Kit Mun is a senior consultant geriatrician in the University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC). She received her medical degree from Trinity College, (MB. BCh. II Hons) University of Dublin, Ireland in 1999. Dr. Tan is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh (FRCP) UK. She completed her specialist training and received her Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST) in Geriatric Medicine from the Irish Committee of Higher Medical Training, Royal College of Physicians Ireland in 2009. She was practising as a consultant geriatrician in Dublin, Ireland until 2012. Dr. Tan's special interest include stroke, atrial fibrillation, dementia, osteoporosis, hypertension in the older person and comprehensive geriatric assessment of the complex older person. Dr. Tan is also an Assoiciate Professor with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. She is a trainer for the Malaysian Geriatric Medicine Specialist Training Scheme, Masters of Internal Medicine Programme in University of Malaya as well as the University of Malaya Medical Programme (UMMP). She is a member of the Malaysian Society of Geriatric Medicine (MSGM) and participates as a speaker and presenter of research findings at the annual Malaysian Congress of Geriatric Medicine (MCGM).
