NAZLI CHE DIN PhD, P. Tech. , Arch. Tech. (LAM ATS/N1), Eng. Tech. (T16459) Nazli Che Din is a senior lecturer in the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. He has been a faculty member since 2006 and holds a PhD from Oita University, Japan. His research interests lie in environmental and architectural acoustics with a focus on improving quality strategies and related product realization. He has produced a few publications in ISI journals and over 200 technical publications in other refereed journals, proceedings, technical reports, acoustical letters, books, and book chapters. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief for the Scopus-indexed Journal of Design and Built Environment (JDBE), the Journal Acoustics and Vibration Research (JAVR) and is a member of the Editorial Board Member for the Web of Science-indexed journal, Acoustical Science and Technology (AST). Dr. Nazli is a Professional Technologist of the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), a Registered Architectural Technologist Specialization (Architectural Acoustics) of the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM), a Registered Engineering Technologist of the Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM), a founding member and former President (2020-2024) and currently holds a position as Vice Presicent 1 (2024-2026) in Society of Vibration and Acoustics Malaysia (SVAM), a former member Acoustical Society of America (ASA), a member of International Institute Acoustics and Vibration (IIAV), UK, a former member Acoustical Society Japan (ASJ), a former member of Architectural Institute Japan (AIJ) and a graduate member of Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM). He has held various responsibilities in academic administration, including Deputy Dean of Undergraduate, Deputy Dean of Research & Development, Head of Architecture Department, and Chairman of Council Head of Architectural School Malaysia (COHAS). Research Interest: Room Acoustics, Building Acoustics, Architectural Acoustics, Environmental Noise, Soundscape, Material Characteristics along with any related fields regarding noise.
show more »Dr Nor Adinar BAHARUDDIN received her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in 2010 from the University of Otago, New Zealand. Her thesis is on bone healing in animal model. Dr Baharuddin returned home and continues research in her field of interest; on periodontal screening tools, biomarkers for periodontitis, regeneration, animal model and obesity related to periodontal disease. She has published articles in various international journals. At present, she is a Professor (Periodontology) at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya Kuala Lumpur. She has 28 years of experience in teaching, research and management roles. Among all, she has served as the Deputy Dean of Research from February 2022 until December 2024; and the Head of Department in 2006 and from 2011-2014. She played a pivotal role in positioning the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya, among the Top 100 in the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2025, establishing it as Malaysia’s sole ranked programme in the field. She has been involved in curriculum development for both undergraduate and postgraduate programme. She contributes as a panel for the Accreditation Assessment for the Postgraduate Dental Education and a committee member for the DentSEdC under the Dental Specialist Assessment Programme Committee for Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA). She also serves as a committee for the Professional Qualifying Examination for the Malaysian Dental Council.
show more »Dr. Zamri Hussin graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) in 2012. He completed his specialist training in periodontics at Manchester University (UK) in 2018, earning a Distinction. In the same year, he was awarded Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK). In 2017, Dr. Zamri received the Dentsply Prize for Best Postgraduate Student Oral Case Presentation, recognizing his insights into periodontal health, treatment, and patient perspectives. He currently serves as the Secretary of the Malaysian Society of Periodontology and is a life member of the Malaysian Society of Oral Microbiologists and Oral Immunologists. Dr. Zamri is a full-time periodontist and lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya. His expertise includes non-surgical periodontal therapy (oral hygiene education, behavior modification, and root surface debridement) and surgical periodontics. His surgical skills encompass root surface debridement, periodontal regeneration, grafting procedures for intrabony defects, gingival recession, and mucogingival aesthetic surgery. Additionally, he performs implant dentistry and related surgeries. Dr. Zamri practices evidence-based, minimally invasive surgical techniques using microsurgical instruments and magnification to enhance patient comfort and improve healing outcomes. His current research interests include clinical and metagenomic insights into promicrobial synbiotic adjunctive therapy, periodontal phenotypic profiling in orthodontics, and digital innovation in behaviour modification therapy. He is dedicated to advancing his field through high-quality research, teaching, and clinical excellence, while also giving back to society.
