Biography | |
Dr. Zamri Hussin graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) in 2012. He completed his specialist training in periodontics at Manchester University (UK) in 2018, earning a Distinction. In the same year, he was awarded Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK). In 2017, Dr. Zamri received the Dentsply Prize for Best Postgraduate Student Oral Case Presentation, recognizing his insights into periodontal health, treatment, and patient perspectives. He currently serves as the Secretary of the Malaysian Society of Periodontology and is a life member of the Malaysian Society of Oral Microbiologists and Oral Immunologists. Dr. Zamri is a full-time periodontist and lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya. His expertise includes non-surgical periodontal therapy (oral hygiene education, behavior modification, and root surface debridement) and surgical periodontics. His surgical skills encompass root surface debridement, periodontal regeneration, grafting procedures for intrabony defects, gingival recession, and mucogingival aesthetic surgery. Additionally, he performs implant dentistry and related surgeries. Dr. Zamri practices evidence-based, minimally invasive surgical techniques using microsurgical instruments and magnification to enhance patient comfort and improve healing outcomes. His current research interests include clinical and metagenomic insights into promicrobial synbiotic adjunctive therapy, periodontal phenotypic profiling in orthodontics, and digital innovation in behaviour modification therapy. He is dedicated to advancing his field through high-quality research, teaching, and clinical excellence, while also giving back to society. |
