DR. ZULHELMI BIN AMIR

Dr. Zulhelmi Amir is a researcher and senior lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. He received his B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from Yamagata University, Japan (2011), his M.Eng.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Malaya (2016), and his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (2020). His research focuses on oilfield water control, enhanced oil recovery, geological carbon storage, completion and drilling fluids, and flow assurance. He is particularly interested in developing innovative materials and processes, and promote sustainable practices in oil and gas operations. Dr. Zulhelmi has published extensively in ISI‑indexed journals and has presented at numerous international conferences, including those organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). He is currently teaching undergraduate courses in chemical engineering and actively supervises research projects that integrate academic insights with industry needs. DR. SYED MAHMOOD

•He completed Bachelors in pharmacy from Jamia Hamdard University (New Delhi) in 2011 and Masters in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics) from APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (Noida) and International Islamic University Malaysia (Kuantan) in a the sandwich program which was completed in 2013. He also holds a post-graduate diploma in Pharmaceutical drug regulatory affairs from Jamia Hamdard (New Delhi, 2012). •He completed his PhD from International Islamic University Malaysia (Kuantan) in 2017. His PhD research was on drug delivery and technologies. For his PhD, he received a prestigious Islamic development bank scholarship. • After his PhD, he worked at University Malaysia Pahang, as a senior lecturer teaching in the pharmaceutical engineering department. •His specialization is on the field of pharmaceutical technology and engineering area which includes (drug delivery, pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical nanotechnology (nanoparticles mediated drug delivery), animal model, analytical chemistry (LC-MS, HPLC) and system validation and qualification. •Currently he is working at Universiti Malaya in pharmacy faculty attached to the pharmaceutical technology department.

PROFESSOR IR. DR. POO BALAN A/L GANESAN

PooBalan received bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Technology Malaysia, Skudai in 1999; Master’s degree (MSc) in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol, England, UK in 2005 and Ph.D. degree (fluid mechanics & heat transfer) from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK in 2010. He also served as postdoctoral-Research Assistant at the University of Aberdeen in 2010 to work on the research related to nuclear power plant thermal-hydraulic related problems. PooBalan has industry experience as Process and Product Engineer at AIWA Electronic Sdn Bhd, Johor, Malaysia and Venture Electronic Sdn Bhd, Johor, Malaysia from year 2000-2004. PooBalan has received professional engineer certifications of Chartered Engineer (CEng) from the Institution of Mechanical Engineer (IMechE), UK and IR (PEng) from Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM). PooBalan expertise is within the field of study related to fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermal fluid, pump characteristics & application and heat exchanger. PooBalan is presently working on project related to aeration technology for aquaculture, development of venturi nozzle for mixing of water & air, development of micro-nano bubbles generator, development of compact heat exchanger based on open-type metal foam. PooBalan has a patent and a copyright on micro-bubble generator nozzle and technology for water aeration & mixing. PooBalan is also actively involved with community related project such as knowledge-transfer programs and activities on urban aquaculture farming. A model of an urban aquaculture farming has been developed at Sect 3, Petaling Jaya residential house and at Broga Hill, Semenyih based on effective & suitable aeration technology and Biofloc (healthy microorganisms).
