DR. MARLINDA BINTI AB RAHMAN

Dr. Marlinda bt Ab Rahman is a senior lecturer at Nanotechnology and Catalysis Research Centre ( NANOCAT), University of Malaya, Malaysia since June 2018. She obtained her MS.c and Ph.D. from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in experimental physics in 2013 and 2017 respectively. Her research interests are in the area of graphene, nanomaterials, electrochemistry, and biosensors. Her current research project is on the synthesis and fabrication of graphene/natural rubber latex and rubber band composite for sensor applications.

DR. SURINA BINTI ZAMAN HURI

Dr Surina Zaman Huri is a Geriatric Psychiatrist and Medical Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2002, followed by a Master of Medicine (Psychiatry) from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2012, and subsequently completed her Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry (2020–2024) with the Ministry of Health Malaysia and Changi General Hospital, Singapore. Her expertise encompasses the management of mental health conditions in older adults, including late-life depression, anxiety, insomnia, and other geriatric psychiatric disorders. Her main clinical and research focus is dementia, particularly the management of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), with a strong emphasis on improving the quality of life for both individuals living with the condition and their caregivers. She is also dedicated to addressing caregiver burden by understanding their needs and providing appropriate support to enhance overall well-being within the caregiving relationship. In addition, she has a growing interest in sleep disorders among the elderly, recognizing their significant impact on cognitive and emotional health in later life.

PROFESSOR IR. DR. FARIDAH BINTI OTHMAN

Faridah Othman is a registered Professional Engineer (PEng, Malaysia) and a Certified EIA Consultant (DOE, Malaysia).  She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Missouri (USA), Master and PhD from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne (UK).  Her field of specialization is Water and Environmental Engineering. Her research interest includes water resources and management, water security, floods, river conservation and pollution control, water supply and sewerage, as well as hydro-environment. She has vast experience in computer modelling and simulations which includes flood, river and surface water quality. She is also interested in the Artificial Intelligence and Optimization models, along with  GIS and remote sensing application. She has over 25 years of teaching and supervising experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels., and successfully supervising more than 30 postgraduates inclusive of PhDs, Masters and Post Doctorate.  She has authored and co-authored more than 180 articles including journals, conferences and technical  reports in national and international publications.    She is a passionate and self-motivated researcher with a strong desire to build a career within the research  industry. In her career, she has been actively involved in numerous consultation projects with the relevant authorities and private companies, local and international.  Moreover, she is also doing research collaboration with industries, other universities, research institutions, and communities, to ensure that her research would benefit not only to the academic world but the nation, societies, and communities.
