NAZLI CHE DIN PhD, P. Tech. , Arch. Tech. (LAM ATS/N1), Eng. Tech. (T16459) Nazli Che Din is a senior lecturer in the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. He has been a faculty member since 2006 and holds a PhD from Oita University, Japan. His research interests lie in environmental and architectural acoustics with a focus on improving quality strategies and related product realization. He has produced a few publications in ISI journals and over 200 technical publications in other refereed journals, proceedings, technical reports, acoustical letters, books, and book chapters. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief for the Scopus-indexed Journal of Design and Built Environment (JDBE), the Journal Acoustics and Vibration Research (JAVR) and is a member of the Editorial Board Member for the Web of Science-indexed journal, Acoustical Science and Technology (AST). Dr. Nazli is a Professional Technologist of the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), a Registered Architectural Technologist Specialization (Architectural Acoustics) of the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM), a Registered Engineering Technologist of the Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM), a founding member and former President (2020-2024) and currently holds a position as Vice Presicent 1 (2024-2026) in Society of Vibration and Acoustics Malaysia (SVAM), a former member Acoustical Society of America (ASA), a member of International Institute Acoustics and Vibration (IIAV), UK, a former member Acoustical Society Japan (ASJ), a former member of Architectural Institute Japan (AIJ) and a graduate member of Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM). He has held various responsibilities in academic administration, including Deputy Dean of Undergraduate, Deputy Dean of Research & Development, Head of Architecture Department, and Chairman of Council Head of Architectural School Malaysia (COHAS). Research Interest: Room Acoustics, Building Acoustics, Architectural Acoustics, Environmental Noise, Soundscape, Material Characteristics along with any related fields regarding noise.
show more »Dr. Azimah Omar received her B.Eng. degree in Electrical & Electronics and M.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). 2017 she completed her Ph.D. in Electrical, Electronics & Systems Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering UM, and seconded to the Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HICoE) University of Malaya Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDAC). Her research interests include solar photovoltaic systems & technologies, nanomaterials & nanotechnology, solar cell modelling & optimization, and solar cell fabrication, characterization & analysis. She is also involved in solar PV module testing for industries using Electroluminescence equipment. In April 2025, the Electroluminescence Testing Lab successfully demonstrated its technical competence to operate in accordance with MS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (ISO/IEC 17025:2017). She is also an active Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), USA, and a Graduate Engineer of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). In December 2024, she was appointed as a Counselor for the IEEE UM Student Branch, where the team will be organizing the SCOReD2025 conference in November 2025. In January 2020, she was selected to join the DAAD DIES ProGRANT Proposal Writing for Research Grants in Malaysia (Remote Seminar) organized by the University of Cologne, Germany. After completing three-section courses, she is officially in the DAAD DIES ProGRANT Alumni Community. In December 2024, in collaboration with Professor Takashi Sagawa (Kyoto University), their research work was selected to join the Leadership Exchange Course (FY2024, JST NEXUS program), sponsored by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and organized by Kyoto University, Japan. She recently had 740 total citations and a 12 h-index and 937 total citations, 15 h-index based on SCOPUS and Google, respectively. She is also an active and recognized Reviewer for the Journal of Materials Research, Heliyon Elsevier Journal, Nanotechnology Journal (IOP Publishing), and Materials Chemistry & Physics Elsevier Journal.
show more »Yong Yee is a passionate social scientist dedicated to exploring the transformative power of sport and its impact on society. She is particularly interested in understanding the experiences of marginalized and underrepresented groups, such as women, refugees, and people with disabilities. Her research seeks to identify and address the challenges that these groups face in participating in sport, as well as to promote equitable and inclusive practices. Yong Yee's current research projects include capacity building for youth-led refugees' sport events, the future of sport and sustainability, and educating Paralympics Sports volunteers using the design thinking approach. These projects reflect her commitment to using research to inform and improve sport policy and practice.
