Dr. Wang I Ta started his piano study at the age of ten and received his formal training in the National Taiwan Normal University (BA) under prof. Lina Yeh, Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University (MM) under prof. Boris Slutsky, and University of Minnesota (DMA) under prof. Alexander Braginsky. He was the recipient of the Rising Star Award of National Concert Hall in Taiwan 2008, Hutchinson Scholarship (University of Minnesota), and Rosenberg Scholarship (Peabody Conservatory). He was the winner of the Schubert Club Music Competition, the Walnut Hill Concerto Competition, and the Eleanor Bell Watson Competition. Besides his formal education, he also attended and performed in renowned festivals such as TCU/Cliburn Piano Institute (now Piano Texas), International New York Keyboard Festival, and Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory-The International Summer School. As a soloist, he has collaborated with the KLPAC Orchestra, Camerata Youth Orchestra, UM Symphony Orchestra, Hunan Symphony Orchestra and Longwood Symphony Orchestra, etc. His concerts in Taiwan were sponsored by the National Culture and Arts Foundation from 2008 to 2012. He is currently the Head of the Music Department and a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Creative Arts, University of Malaya.
show more »Zamri obtained his BSc in Chemistry and MSc in pharmacology from the University of Malaya and later PhD in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of London (UK) in 2007. Soon after completed his doctorate degree, he joined the Department of pharmacology, University of Malaya as a senior lecturer and currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and also Head of Universiti Malaya Research Centre for Biopharmaceuticals and Advanced Therapeutics (UBAT). He was recently awarded a Fellow by the British Pharmacological Society (FBPhS). His scope of research includes bioavailability and pharmacokinetic studies in human and animal models, drug delivery systems such as PEG-PLGA nanoparticles for systemic drug delivery, and semi solid formulations for transdermal and topical preparation. Apart from human clinical trials and preclinical studies in animals, his research also covers the development of humanized mice model for cancers and cell based therapy for cancers. His laboratory also provides services and research in adulterated pharmaceutical products, xenobiotic studies on certain chemicals such as endocrine disruptors in food products, human bodies, etc. using GCMS, HPLC, LCMSMS, etc. Apart from his research activities, he also actively provided consultation to local pharmaceutical companies to conduct testing on pharmaceutical formulations especially for bioequivalence studies, comparative dissolution, etc. His bioequivalence laboratory has conducted more than 40 bioequivalence studies for generic drug formulations and also conducted drug analysis in biological and pharmaceutical formulations.
show more »Dr. Mohd Hafizan Md Isa is a senior lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Malaya, combining academic expertise with industry experience. He has worked with consultancy and international engineering firms, as well as in technical and academic support roles involving project management and technical design. His research focuses on sustainable construction materials and soil stabilization, with a strong emphasis on recycling waste and industrial byproducts for infrastructure applications. He is actively engaged in projects that promote sustainable construction practices, including the development of environmentally friendly materials and innovative solutions for improving infrastructure performance and durability. His areas of interest include Geotechnical Engineering, Ground Improvement, and Geomaterials, and his work seeks to merge environmental sustainability with practical engineering solutions to create greener, more resilient, and resource-efficient infrastructure.
