Dr. Ho Hui Ling is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. She has received her Ph.D. from University of Malaya in 2003. Dr. Ho’s specialization is Malaysian History from the colonial period to modern period. She has conducted numerous studies on the history of Emergency era and communist movements in Malaya/Malaysia, socioeconomic development in Malaysia, ethnic relations and the development of plural societies in Malaysia, as well as various aspects of the history of Sarawak and Sabah. The findings of her research have been published in the form of books, chapters in books, journal articles and also contained in research reports and conference papers. Dr. Ho was also appointed as a panel of reference experts on secondary and primary school’s History curriculum and textbook by the Ministry of Education Malaysia (Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia/KPM) since 2017. She was also involved in reviewing History textbooks for secondary and primary school published by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP).

Dr. Wan Abd Al Qadr Imad Wan-Mohtar is an Associate Professor and fermentation technologist at the University of Malaya's Functional Omics and Bioprocess Development Laboratory, located in the Faculty of Science, Institute of Biological Sciences. Professor Brian McNeil, a fungal fermentation expert, and Professor Linda Harvey, author of Practical Fermentation Technology (John Wiley & Sons), supervised him at Glasgow's Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Wan-Mohtar's research focuses on extended liquid fermentation and mushroom microbiology. He holds a BSc in Microbiology (Local Basidiomycetes), an MSc in Food Biotechnology (Bioprocessing), and a PhD in Fermentation Technology (Ganoderma lucidum). He applies his mushroom liquid growing skills to extract mushroom colours, protein, polysaccharides, and oil for SDG2 Zero Hunger, SDG6 Clean Water and Sanitation, and SDG7 Affordable and Clean Energy. He represented Malaysia among nineteen international scientists on food security post-2050 at the ''Innovative, sustainable, and circular agricultural systems for the future" utilising mushrooms in Morocco in 2019 and Korea in 2023. At the age of 37, he has 102 high-quality research articles and has been appointed as a Visiting Research Fellow at Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest in Ireland through 2024. He has also been appointed to the Young Scientist Network (YSN)- Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) till 2024, the Asian Federation of Biotechnology Malaysia (2023-2024), the Solar Research Institute (SRI) UiTM, and the CESPRO UKM Research Fellow (2021-2023). He recently published a chapter on Cultivation Strategies of Medicinal Mushrooms in Submerged-liquid Fermentation (SLF) (2019) and Ganoderma in Traditional Culture (2024) with Taylor & Francis. He has finished sabbatical break at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) in 2024-2025 on hot-climate mushroom discovery (Arabian truffles). Dr Sheena Kaur graduated with a doctoral degree in Applied Linguistics from Lancaster University, U.K. An alumnus of Universiti Malaya (U.M.), Malaysia's leading university, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (English Literature), Diploma in Education (TESL) and Master of English as a Second Language (M.ESL).  She is an Associate Professor at the Department of English Language, Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, U.M. She was formerly Head of Strategic Global Alliances Division at the International Relations Centre (IRC), Universiti Malaya from 15 March 2023 to 15 March 2024. She has also held several other administrative positions in her career at the university, most recently as the Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies (1 Sept 2020 - 1st Sept 2022) at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, U.M., the Deputy Director of the International Relations Office, U.M. (1st August 2017-31st July 2019), the Head of the Language Unit (17 th Nov 2014-31st July 2016), Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, where she was involved in curriculum planning and design of various English courses for local and international undergraduates. From 2010-2012, she was the Head of the Multimedia Planning Unit at the faculty and was a member of the university's e-learning committee. She is also currently involved in several task force committees under the university's Transformation Plan. Sheena has taught several courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her research interests include applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, corpus linguistics, and digital humanities. She is a reviewer for several journals including Psychological Trauma: Theory, Research, Practice and Policy; Pertanika (UPM); Journal of Modern Languages (UM), Gema Online Journal of Language Studies (UKM) and SEARCH (Taylor's College).  She is actively involved in community work, and was the coordinator for the faculty's Community Engagement course during its inception, as well as being a member of the university's advisory board for the course. She led the faculty's first community project for the Community Engagement course with the Semai community at Pos Pantos, Kuala Lipis, Pahang, involving first year undergraduates.  Sheena has recently been awarded the US-ASEAN Fulbright Award for 2024/2025 where she is hosted by Prof Vasti Torres, at Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana, USA. Her research project on women leadership in higher education compares the challenges of women leaders in higher academic contexts in the US and Malaysia.
