DATIN PROF. DR. ZAHURIN BINTI MOHAMED

I obtained my BSc and PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Dundee (UK), joined the University of Malaya as a tutor in 1979, and was promoted to Professor of Pharmacology in 2000. I was the Head of the Department of Pharmacology for over 18 years from 1994, which ended in August 2014, following my appointment into the university's Board of Directors (BOD). My appointment as member of BOD ended in Dec 2015. My main research currently is in pharmacogenomics (PGx), being the country representative on PGx research for an international group (Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative under the National Institute of Health, USA) and 2 regional groups (including the Southeast Asian Pharmacogenomics Network). PGx is currently one of the fastest growing research area globally and I have supervised over 25 postgraduate students in this field over the years. My laboratory was awarded research funding of over RM3.5 million over a period of 5 years from 2011 to 2015, and our team has published over 105 papers since then. I have been invited to speak on PGx at international and national conferences.  I am also a member of at least 7 committees at the national level, the most significant being the National Committee for Clinical Research (NCCR), chaired by the Director-General of Health, Malaysia. My expertise in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is recognised, being invited to be a speaker and facilitator at GCP Workshops throughout the country. My expertise also extends to being a consultant for contract research in the form of Bioequivalence (BE) Studies for various generic drug manufacturers since 1999, and to date, we have completed over 32 consultancies.  My Bioequivalence Centre has two accreditations, one under SAMM ISO-IEC 17025/2001, and the other is under Ministry of Health, and is one of only four accredited centres in Malaysia. I was appointed by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovations, to be a member of the National Bioethics Council (NBC) and presented the Keynote Address at its launch. I have been a Vice-Chairman of NBC. I was also appointed by the Deputy Prime Minister (who was also then the Minister of Education), to be a representive of the University's Senate to the University's Board of Directors, the appointment ended in Dec 2015.  I am also an active member of several NGOs, and frequently and passionately participate in various community and student events.

MR. AMIRUL MOHAMAD KHAIRI BIN MANNAN

Amirul Mohamad Khairi bin Mannan is an accomplished educator and researcher, currently serving as an Education Officer at the Mathematics Division, Centre for Foundation Studies in Science, Universiti Malaya. Since 2012, he has been teaching a diverse range of pre-university mathematics courses, including Algebra, Calculus, Vector, Statistics, and Programming. Amirul holds a Degree in Electrical Engineering (2005), Master’s in Computer Science (2013) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (2017) from Universiti Malaya, and he is presently pursuing a PhD in Education. His research focuses on metacognitive processes in calculus problem-solving, particularly through the integration of GeoGebra, a dynamic mathematics software. In addition to his teaching roles, Amirul has been recognized for his innovative approaches in education. He has received several prestigious awards, including the Malaysia Toray Science Foundation - Science Education Award 2024, Gold Medal at the Pre-University Matriculation Innovation Competition 2023 and Universiti Malaya Excellent Awards 2023 for Innovative Alternative Assessment. His commitment to using technology to enhance learning has earned him recognition both nationally and internationally. Prior to his academic career, Amirul spent five years in industry, gaining expertise in PCB layout design and online marketing. This technical background complements his research interests in mathematics education, online learning, hybrid learning, and STEM education. Amirul is open to future collaborations in education and technology integration and welcomes opportunities to supervise and mentor students. He is passionate about guiding students and colleagues in their academic pursuits and research projects, and he remains committed to contributing to the advancement of educational practices.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. NADHRATUL WARDAH BINTI HJ. SALMAN

Nadhratul Wardah Salman graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the International Islamic University Malaysia. She then completed a Master's in Sports Policy and a Master of Laws (LL.M). Driven by her curiosity about the dynamic relationship between sports and law, she pursued her Ph.D at Manchester Metropolitan University, focusing on the legal and safety issues surrounding children's sports. Her teaching and research interests include Sports Law, the Law of Torts, Sports Governance and Policy, and Human Rights. She is researching ways to combat match-fixing in sports and is particularly interested in the evolving legal context of the duty of care in sports. Over the past 20 years, Wardah has developed significant leadership skills. She has held various managerial positions, including Deputy Dean, Deputy Director, and Residential College Master. In addition, she has supervised and coordinated over 50 sports events and community engagement projects. Wardah is actively involved in fitness and recreational activities and has competed in numerous sports and martial arts tournaments for approximately 30 years. She represented Universiti Malaya in athletics from 2007 to 2024, with her most notable achievement being named 'UM Sportswoman of the Year' in 2010. She was a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Malaysian Hockey Confederation from 2009 to 2014. She served as a think tank member for the Institute for Youth Research Malaysia (IYRES) from 2012 to 2016. Currently, she is a member of the National Dispute Resolution Chamber for the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for the term 2022-2025.
