Norafida Ab Ghafar, has started her teaching career at University of Malaya in 1996 as a lecturer inArchitecture Department. Earned Master in Urban Design from Oxford Brookes University and Ph.D inSustainable Architecture from University of Nottingham. These make her research more holistic whereshe can contribute in macro and micro context scope. She was a Head of UCTA (Urban, Conservationand Tropical Architecture Research Unit) and was the Head of Architecture School. Her researchincludes the Passive solar building, Zero Energy Building, Universal design, and livable city.
show more »Dr. Wong Won Fen is a faculty member at the Department of Medical Microbiology, Universiti Malaya, where she has served since 2012. She is an immunologist with research interests in host–pathogen interactions, immune regulation, and inflammation, with a particular focus on the immunopathogenesis of sexually transmitted infections such as Chlamydia trachomatis and HIV. Her research integrates molecular and cellular immunology to understand immune dynamics and develop strategies for improving disease prognosis, vaccine development, and novel immunotherapeutic interventions. Dr. Wong received her early scientific training at Tohoku University, Japan, under the supervision of Professor Masanobu Satake. To date, she has published more than 115 peer-reviewed articles, with an h-index of 37 and over 5,200 citations. She has received several international recognitions, including the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellowship, Fulbright Visiting Scholarship, and the Institut Mérieux Young Investigator Award. At Universiti Malaya, Dr. Wong teaches in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. She serves as the Course Coordinator for Immunology in the MBBS programme and for Advanced Medical Microbiology in the Biomedical Science programme, in addition to her role as Ph.D. Programme Coordinator and Quality Management System (QMS) committee member contributing to institutional quality initiatives.
show more »Prof Ir Dr Ab Halim Abu Bakar received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom in 1976, M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Technology, Malaysia in 1996 and 2003 respectively. He spent 30 years of industrial experience with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) before joining University of Malaya. Prof Ir Dr Halim is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Malaysia, Member of IEEE, Cigre, Chartered Engineer (UK) and P.Eng (Malaysia). Currently he is a professor with the UM Power Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDAC), University of Malaya, Malaysia. He is an established academician and a practical engineer. He has to-date published 97 ISI and 151 Scopus papers in journals and 47 papers in proceedings internationally. He has successfully supervised to completion 15 PhD, 5 master by research (M.Eng.Sc), 1 master of pilosophy (M.Phil) and 50 Masters by course work project (M.Eng) and has Web of Science H index of 38 and Scopus H index of 37. He is also involved as a reviewer for iternational journal such as IEEE Transactions Power Delivery, IEEE Transactions Power Systems, IEEE Smart Grid,IET Generation,Transmssion and Distribution IJEPES (Elsevier) and several international confereces. Prof Ir Dr Halim won several excellent awards during his professoinal and academic carrier. In 2008 he won IEEE PES Malaysian Chapter Outstanding Engineering Award.His research interest include power system protection and power system transients.
