Teoh Teow Chong received his BSc in Biochemistry in 1996, MSc in Biochemistry in 2000, and PhD in Computational Chemistry in 2008, from University of Malaya. He has been teaching started as a school teacher, to Lecturer since 1990 in various educational institutions, such as primary school, smart school, KDU college, Taylor’s College and Stamford College and tutors in OUM and IMU for 20 years until finally back in the University of Malaya in 2009 as Senior Lecturer. His research interests are focusing in drug design by molecular docking and molecular dynamics, chemical analysis by HPLC and LCMS, and transcriptomics of fungal species. He has been the webmaster of Institute of Biological Sciences (ISB) since 2009, the Coordinator of Master of Bioinformatics since 2016, Faculty of Science, UM, and the committee member of JKIT, ISB, UM, and the Secretary for Malaysian Society Of Marine Sciences (MSMS). He has been the company consultant for Ganofarm R&D Sdn. Bhd since 2010. He also served as organization committee for multiple international and national conferences, including the Quantum & Non-linear Optics Conference (QNO 2019), Bio Asia-Pacific Conference Series 2016, ICMSM 2009, ACCMS 2017, ACCIS 2017, and Biosymposium of ISB. He has also presented numerous conference papers including in the 10th Asia Pacific Biotech Congress in Bangkok, International Symposium On Computational Science in Japan and The First International Workshop on Computational Biophysics in Vietnam. Besides, he is the co-owner of US patent and China patent in the production bioethanol from biomass as an alternative biofuel. He was also the Company Director of MyEZfuel Sdn. Bhd., a spin-off company by the UM Holdings. To date, he has graduated 5 MSc and 2 PhD graduates and currently supervising 2 PhD researchers, 2 Master of Bioinformatics researchers and 2 undergraduate students.
