Muhamad Hilmi Abdul Rahman is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, Public Administration, and Development Studies, Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya. He currently serves as Programme Coordinator for the Master of Development Studies programme (2025-2028). He earned his PhD (Economics) from Universiti Malaya, with a primary focus on development studies, particularly poverty and economic inequality. His research also encompasses poverty reduction strategies, economic inequality, and socioeconomic development. He is currently involved in projects on developing a Pelan Strategik Kebolehpasaran Graduan 2026-2030, Modul Asuhan dan Jagaan Kanak-kanak OKU Autisme, assessing Family Planning Practices in Malaysia, and conducting Wage Analysis among Malaysian gaduates. These initiatives involve collaborations with the Malaysian Department of Social Welfare, National Population and Family Development Board Malaysia, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, and Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. He is a recipient of the 14th edition of the Istituto Di Studi Economici E Per L’Occupazione Scholarship (2017, Italy) and the 2022 Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility project between Universiti Malaya and Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Turkey.
show more »Dr. Sabzali Musa Kahn was born in Besut, Terengganu, Malaysia. He graduated with a degree in visual arts from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang. He then pursued his Masters in Education from Universiti Putra Malaysia and he obtained his Doctorate (Ph.D) in Architecture Studies from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He started his career as a consultant in government and corporate sectors. He was one of the committee who founded Universiti Industri Selangor, Malaysia (UNISEL). In addition, he was appointed as the secretariat member to develop the master action plan for the Ministry of Unity and Development Community, Malaysia. His participation in various major exhibitions organized by universities, galleries, state and National Art Gallery has greatly enhanced his knowledge and experience as an artist. He is also involved with visual arts research, theatre and workshops in the aspect of creative teaching for the pre-school children, people with disabilities and in curriculum development of visual art studies at the university level. He has won several competitions in art and design. Some of the awards obtained were Main Incentive gift from Art Media exhibition 2006, Special Award Art Media VIII,2009 and Special award Art Media IX,2010. He is the gold medalist for Innovation and Creativity EXPO 2010, University of Malaya, Malaysia. In 2015, he won the national gold medal at Innovation and Invention Competition Through Exhibition (iCompEx) and Cahaya Kasih President’s Award from Maybank, Malaysia. His research on the use of new materials and techniques in visual art production has won him Excellence University of Malaya Award for 2015 under the Arts and Creativity Category. He held position as the head jury for batik art drawing category at the international level which was organized by Rehabilitation Council Malaysia (MCR). He represented Malaysia for visual art category and was the first Malaysian selected to be head jury in the 8th International Abilympic 2011 at Seoul,Korea. His ongoing effort and contribution has brought gold medal to Malaysia in the International Abilympic 2011. This has been a great achievement for the country at the international level to have won a gold medal for the last 32 years. Dr. Sabzali active participation in the social work at local and international level has made great impact to the society. Creativity activities and education based on visual art are incorporated into his social works. He was the Visual Art Coordinator and Deputy Director (undergraduate) at the Cultural Centre, University Malaya. Currently, he is the Dean at Academy of Malay Studies, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
show more »Dr. Mohd Salim Mohamed is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Science and Technology Studies, Faculty of Science, University of Malaya. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science (2006), a Master of Science (2009), and a Doctor of Philosophy (2014). His scholarly expertise is anchored in bioethics, with particular emphasis on biomedical ethics and policy, sustainability ethics, and ethics education. At the institutional level, Dr. Salim serves as a reviewer for the Universiti Malaya Research Ethics Committee (UMREC) and as Coordinator of the Master of Sustainability Science (Open and Distance Learning) programme, reflecting his active engagement in research governance and academic leadership. Dr. Salim’s research addresses a wide range of ethical issues, including ethical decision-making in medicine, gender-related ethical concerns, sustainability ethics, research ethics, and the advancement of ethics education. He is deeply committed to knowledge dissemination and has actively presented his work at international conferences in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Indonesia, contributing to regional and global bioethics discourse. His scholarly contributions have been published in leading international journals, including Science and Engineering Ethics, Ethics & Behavior, Journal of Religion and Health, Accountability in Research: Policies and Quality Assurance, Journal of Empirical Research on Human Research Ethics, Biotechnology Law Report, Academic Ethics, and Revista Română de Bioetică, among others.As an educator, Dr. Salim teaches a range of ethics courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Ethics and Safety, Bioethics and Society, Ethics in Science and Technology, and Ethics of Knowledge and Profession. His teaching philosophy emphasizes critical ethical reasoning, interdisciplinary engagement, and real-world application. Dr. Salim is a member of the International Association of Bioethics (IAB) and the Asian Bioethics Association (ABA), underscoring his commitment to advancing bioethics scholarship, education, and policy engagement at both regional and international levels.
