DR. SRIHARI SINGARAVEL

Dr. Srihari SingaravelConsultant Pediatric Urologist | Senior Lecturer I am an experienced Consultant Pediatric Urologist with over 16 years of expertise in managing complex pediatric urological conditions. Currently serving as an academic staff member in the Department of Surgery at University Malaya, I provide dedicated pediatric urology services at both University Malaya Medical Center (PPUM) and UM Specialist Center (UMSC). I was the first Pediatric Surgeon to graduate from University Malaya and has since been instrumental in advancing pediatric urology in Malaysia. Actively involved in education and research, I contribute to the field through authorship of research publications, examination question design, and expert speaking engagements at medical conferences. With a commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and research, I will continue my endeavour to shape the future of pediatric urology in Malaysia and beyond.

DR. WELYNE JEFFREY JEHOM

I am an anthropologist by training and I am involved in research on community development and engagement. All of my work with the communities have been supporting and creating a structure for them to participate in circular economy by empowering them with skills and knowledge that are relevant for them to establish community-based enterprise or to enhance their knowledge on being an Indigenous entrepreneurs at the rural regions. For this purpose, I adopt participatory community-based action research and ethnographic study, particularly when I conduct social impact assessment before conducting the research and after the implementations of the projects. My primary research focusing on community-driven development project that includes the applications of Indigenous knowledgeas tools for the community livelihood development in the circular economy on community-based cultural and knowledge conservation by engaging the makers, artisans and women to actively participate in the projects. The most successful research and sustainable community engagement has been the development of the Indigenous knowledge of the traditional textile, the Iban pua kumbu that has led to a series of educational polysensory exhibition, the “Textile Tales of the Pua Kumbu since 2015. I am also an art curator, curating cultural exhibitions and based on the HIR (2013-2016), I created a community-based enterprise that promotes the traditional Iban Pua Kumbu internationally.

DR. HANEE FARZANA BINTI HIZADDIN

Dr. Hanee Farzana is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Malaya since 2016. Dr. Hanee first join UM in 2012 as an Academic Fellow. Prior to that, she worked as a Safety and Risk Engineer with ExxonMobil Malaysia from 2009 to 2011. She resigned to pursue her studies and a career in academia. Her primary research interests are design and development of novel solvents (e.g., ionic liquid and deep eutectic solvents) for various applications in chemical processes, particularly in the separation of fluid mixtures (liquid-liquid and gas-liquid mixtures), with a special interest on separation and recovery of precious metals, critical minerals and rare earh elements, and in CO2 capture and utilization. Dr. Hanee is also passionate about engineering education and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) implementation. She was the Programme Coordinator for the Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree program from 2019 to 2021 and was in charge of coordinating accreditation matters related to the program. She is currently the Head of Department for Chemical Engineering until 2027.
