ASSOCIATE PROF. TS. DR. ISMAIL BIN AHMEDY

Ismail Ahmedy is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer System and Technology (CST), Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Malaya. He is currently the Head for Research Grant Management Division, Department of Research Management, Universiti Malaya. He is also Head of the Center for Mobile Cloud Computing Research (C4MCCR). Previously, he was the Head of Department for Department of Computer System and Technology, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaya. He received his BSc (Computer) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2006. After completing his study, he has been granted a full scholarship to pursue his studies in Master and PhD where he received his MSc (Computer Science) from University of Queensland, Australia in 2009 and PhD (Computer Science) in 2015. He obtained his PhD (Computer Science) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia specialized in communication protocol for wireless sensor networks. His research interests are WSN, Internet of Things, Energy Managament and Optimization Algorithm.  Ismail has been awarded several research grants as a principal investigator for MRUN-LRGS, FRGS, IIRG and other research grants approx. RM600K. He has been actively publishing more than 40 SCIE (WOS) journals. To date, he has successfully supervised 9 PhD and 3 Masters (by research) students.

DR. MOHD FAIRUZ BIN ZAMANI

Dr. Mohd Fairuz Zamani (better known as Fairuz Zamani) is currently attached to the Faculty of Creative Arts, Universiti Malaya (UM) as an academic.His current research interest is within the realm of music compositions by Malaysian contemporary composers and establishing musical frameworks for the works by these composers.  Apart from academic work, Dr. Fairuz writes music for various occasions. He has been a member of the Malaysian Composers Collective since 2022. Under this organization, he premiered Phrygian Fantasy (2023), Kenyalang Rhapsody (2022), and Two Miniatures (2022). During his time with Koir Kebangsaan Malaysia and Permata Seni Koir as the resident arranger, he composed two works commissioned by the Department of Culture and Arts of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC) - Nuance of Rebab Fantasy (2013) and Mek Mulung Cycle (2018), in addition to countless music arrangements for choir with piano or orchestral accompaniment for various concerts. Dr. Fairuz continues to write choir arrangements for performances and competitions, and many of his arrangements have been sung by national and international award-winning choirs.  Dr. Fairuz is also an active performer and adjudicator. Among notable recent performances were Music of Johan Othman and Razak Aziz (2023), Pini di Roma (2023), and The Carnival of the Animals (2022) with the National Symphony Orchestra of Malaysia, and Beethoven's 250th Birthday Celebration Concert at the German Embassy Kuala Lumpur (2021). Recently, Dr. Fairuz adjudicated the MAME Folksong Festival (Piano category) and the 2nd China-ASEAN Music and Arts Cultural Exchange in 2024.

PROFESSOR IR. DR. MOHD FAIZUL BIN MOHD SABRI

I am a Professor and Deputy Dean of Research at the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya. I am a registered Professional Engineer (PEng) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE). I previously served as the President of the Malaysian Thermoelectric Society and held administrative positions including Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (2016-2019). I also serve as a program examiner for the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC), Malaysia, contributing to the quality assurance of engineering education in the country. My research focuses on energy materials, electronics packaging (solder alloys) and MEMS. I have published over 200 ISI-indexed journal articles, 2 books, and 10 book chapters. My work has garnered over 4,600 citations with an h-index of 35. I hold 7 patents related to my research areas. I have been invited to deliver 7 keynote talks at international conferences and 15 invited talks at local and international conferences. I have secured research grants totaling RM13.6 million and led projects worth RM1.6 million. I have served as an examiner for 29 PhD theses (16 international) and 25 Master's theses (1 international). My expertise is also recognized through my appointment as a reviewer for more than 35 journals and my role as an evaluator for national and international research funding applications. I have supervised more than 30 postgraduate students (specifically 19 PhD, 15 Master's completed, and 10 ongoing).
