Norlidah Alias is a Professor in the Curriculum and Instructional Technology Department, Faculty of Education, University of Malaya. Her area of expertise is Curriculum Development and TVET ( Curriculum). She was a former Deputy Dean (Higher Degrees) at the Faculty (28/3/2019-27/3/2021). Prior joining University of Malaya, she has served as an Assistant Director at Teacher Training Institution, Ministry of Education. She received her Bachelor Degree (Electrical Engineering) from Monash University, Australia, and her Master and PhD degrees from University of Malaya. Her Scopus h-indexed is 13 with 614 citations. She has headed several consultations and research projects, particularly in the area of TVET curriculum acceptance and pedagogy, funded by various international and local agencies. Currently she is the Principal Investigator for several industry research grants at national level and she is a PI for an International Research grant. She has authored and co-authored 12 books, 12 academic articles in ISI-ranked publications and many other Scopus-ranked publications. Her works are published in top-tier International journals including Journal of Educational Tehnology and Society (ETS), Eurasian Journal Mathematics, Science and Technology Education (EJMSTE), Educational Technology Research & Development (ETR&D), Frontiers in Public Health and Interactive Learning Environments. She has also served as an Advisory Committee Member TOJET and TOJSAT, Editorial Board Member for ETS and TOJET, Founding Editor of Malaysian Online Journal of Educational Technology (MOJET) (2013-2016) and Founding Editor for Journal Kurikulum dan Pengajaran Asia Pasifik (JuKu) (2013-2016). She is the Vice President of the Persatuan Kurikulum Malaysia (PerKum). She has received recognition for her teaching and research including awards such as University of Malaya's Excellent Service Award 2014 & 2020, University of Malaya Excellent Service Certificate 2013, 2019 and was Finalist for Malaysian Minister of Education Special Award (Transformative Teaching Category, 2019). She has also won the Gold Medal Award 2010 at the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX) held in Malaysia. She has presented keynotes in International Conferences and was invited speaker in TV program. She has supervised 36 PhD students (19 graduated, 17 on-going) and 23 master's students (24 graduated and 3 on-going). She has supervised an international post doctoral researcher and co-supervised PhD students at other international institutions. She has been appointed as a National TVET Technical Committee Member by the MInister of Education. She serves as an International Assessor for the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council. Currently, she has been appointed as Lead Consultant under UPUM Sdn. Bhd, for two government TVET projects under CIAST and Department of Skills Development, Ministry of Human Resources.
show more »Rosmadi Fauzi is a Professor at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. He obtained a Degree in Social Sciences (Political Science) in 1998, Master of Science (M. Sc.) in 1999 and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in 2008 from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Pulau Pinang. He serves as a lecturer since 2004 and was promoted to an Associate Professor in 2014 and became a Professor in 2022. He was the Deputy Dean of Research and Development at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, he served as the Head of Geography Department from 2015 to 2017. Rosmadi Fauzi is an associate member of National Antarctic Research Centre. In 2008, under the Malaysian Antarctic Research Program (MARP) collaboration with Institute of Antarctica of Ecuador (INAE), Rosmadi Fauzi has joined the scientific expedition journey to the continent of Antarctica with other 22 South American Antarctic researchers to explore the mysteries of the continent. He has successfully carried out his scientific expedition and held a talk at the Scientific Antarctica Expedition Symposium at The State University Santa Elena Peninsula in Ecuador, South America. He has also been invited as a special guest and GIS experts for technical meeting, workshop and visit to INAE by the Institute of Antarctica of Ecuador (INAE) and has attended the 4th Latin American Symposium and 7th Chilean Meeting on Antarctic Research in ValparaÍso, Chile. He is also a member of UM Centre of Election and Democracy (UMCEDEL) where he is actively contributing his expertise in GIS to the center’s strategic researches on the nation’s social, electoral and political subjects. Rosmadi Fauzi broad academic interests involve Geographical Information System, Spatial Politics and Electoral, Social Geography and Spatial Social Sciences. He has collaborated with local and international researchers and produced more than 170 publications including in Web of Science (WOS) and Scopus Journals, books, chapters, conferences papers, technical reports and newspapers. He has been appointed as manuscript assessor, external examiner for thesis to several universities both locally and internationally. He was also Chief Editor for Malaysian Journal Tropical Geography (MJTG) and was appointed as reviewer for several international journals. Rosmadi Fauzi was also an evaluator for the Malaysia Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Research Grant Scheme (2012-2015) and a committee member for the Malaysian Ministry of Education Research Grant Scheme (2019-2020). As an active researcher and the principal investigator in a number of research projects, Rosmadi Fauzi has worked on GIS application, spatial model of voting, people’s perception and social impacts studies in Malaysia. The research work has been funded by local and international research grant such as Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), Impact Oriented Interdisciplinary Research Grant (IIRG), University of Malaya Research Grant (UMRG), Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Top-down Research Grant, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) grant and others, with cumulative research funding in excess of RM 2.2 million to date. He is also actively involved as a project consultant in numerous GIS Mapping research projects. His highest achievement was producing the first Malaysian National Atlas, a consultant project under Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM), Ministry of Water, Land and Natural Resources. His other notable consultation works include GIS and BIG Data Project for FGV Prodata Systems, the IT arm of FELDA Group of Companies; Environment Sensitivity Index Mapping for one of the world largest oil and gas companies, Shell Berhad as well as reviewer for Malaysian General Election Atlas and Electoral Research Project of the 13th,14th and 15th General Election for Malaysia’s pay television news channel Astro AWANI, and more. Rosmadi Fauzi is also actively involved in contribution to society. He is the President of The Parent Teacher Association (PIBG) of Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Langat, Banting and the Vice Chairman of Masjid as Syariff Telok Datok, Banting. show more »Biography (English) Associate Professor Dr Siti Mashitoh Mahamood is currently an Associate Professor at the Syariah and Law Department, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, Malaysia. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Syariah with honours class one from the Faculty of Syariah, Islamic Academy, University of Malaya in 1992. In 1996, she was awarded a Master of Syariah by the same University. She completed her doctoral studies in 2000 at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom in which she specialized in Waqf and Islamic Law of Property. Her areas of expertise and research interests are Waqf and Islamic Law of Property (on Wasiyyah/Bequest, Hibah/Gift, Islamic Succession, Zakat and Baitulmal), Islamic Wealth Management and Estate Planning and also Law and Administration of Muslim Property. She has written many articles and books within her specialization areas. She received a number of gold and excellence awards for her research works, career development and academic services. Her scopus article in Humanomics journal entitled “Financing universities through waqf, pious endowment: is it possible?” received the Outstanding Paper Award for the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2016 from the Emerald Group Publishing Limited, United Kingdom. Associate Professor Dr Siti Mashitoh Mahamood is the Chairman of the Syariah Advisory Board for the As-Salihin Trustee Berhad, Waqf Expert for UM-MAIWP Waqf Joint Management Committee, Zakat Expert for UM Zakat Fund Committee and a member of Cash Waqf Fund Committee of MAIWP. She is also a Task Force member For Empowerment of Muslim Property Governance of JAKIM where laws related to Muslim Properties are drafted and codified. She has been involved in various consultation projects and activities with the government and private institutions, including Syariah and Civil law firms. She has also been involved in providing legal opinions and serving as an expert witness for Malaysian court cases as well as other institutions, including some international institutions on waqf matters. Another aspect of her work has been her active involvement on the codification and amendment of waqf laws in Malaysia including for the Federal Territories & the Wakaf (State of Selangor) Enactment 2015. She has also been involved in the codification and amendment of other Islamic law matters including the Muslim Wills (Selangor) (Amendment) Enactment 2016. Previously, she was the first and former Director of UM Awqaf of the University of Malaya. Her appointment was made for two years (January 2017-December 2018) with the remit of promoting the University and collecting waqf for it. The national and international research findings and experiences that she gathered from her waqf university research projects involving grants LR001A-2013B, LR001B-2013B, LR001C-2013B, RP012D-13HNE and RG 284-11 HNE were used to benefit the running of UM Awqaf portfolio. The 10th of October 2018 was an important historical marker for the University of Malaya as on that date UM was finally granted the legal status of Mutawalli from the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) for the operation of waqf. She had also started the collection of University of Malaya Waqf in the same year. Associate Professor Dr Siti Mashitoh Mahamood had also served a number of portfolios of advisories and board members at the Malaysian Waqaf Foundation (YWM): as a member of the Board of Trustees (2019 - April 2023), the Chairman of the Syariah Advisory Committee (2021- April 2023), the Chairman of the Technical Committee of Supplementary Trust Deed for the Malaysian Waqaf Foundation (2020) and a member of the Syariah Advisory Committee for the foundation (2010–2015 & 2019-2021). She had also served a number of other advisories and committees including a member of the Law Committee for Islamic Religious Council of Selangor (2012-2020), a Member of the Law Committee for Islamic Religious Council of the Federal Territories (MAIWP) (11 August 2019-10 August 2023), a Corporate Advisor (Syariah Compliant Advisor) for Al-Hidayah Group of Companies (2020-2022), the Chairman of PWS-KUIS Wakaf Ilmu Joint Management Committee (2016-2019), Muamalat Expert Panel Member of JAKIM (2016-2018) and many others. She had also been involved in the codification of various waqf Manuals for the Department of Waqf, Zakat and Hajj (JAWHAR). Associate Professor Dr Siti Mashitoh Mahamood had also served as an Expert Consultant for the National Wakaf Master Plan (Legal Aspects) in empowering the Malaysian waqf laws. Biografi (Malay) Profesor Madya Dr Siti Mashitoh Mahamood adalah seorang Profesor Madya di Jabatan Syariah dan Undang-Undang, Akademi Pengajian Islam, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. Beliau berkelulusan Ijazah Sarjana Muda Syariah dengan Kepujian Kelas Pertama daripada Fakulti Syariah, Akademi Islam, Universiti Malaya pada tahun 1992. Pada tahun 1996, beliau dianugerahkan Sarjana Syariah oleh Universiti yang sama. Beliau menamatkan pengajian kedoktorannya pada tahun 2000 di University of Birmingham, United Kingdom dengan pengkhususan dalam bidang Wakaf dan Undang-undang Harta Islam.
