Dr. Mohd Rizal Muwazir is an Associate Professor in the Department of Shariah and Management, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya. He completed his PhD from Cardiff Business School, UK, in 2012. Dr. Mohd Rizal holds a BA in Shariah and Management (2003) and an MBA in Accounting (2006) from Universiti Malaya. Additionally, he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Science Research Methods from Cardiff University in 2007. His research interests and expertise include Islamic banking, Islamic corporate governance, Shariah auditing, corporate social responsibility and financial sustainability. Dr. Rizal serves as a member of the Shariah Committee at OCBC AL-Amin Bank Berhad since 2023 and is also a research team member at the Gulf One Lab for Computational and Economic Research (GOLCER) at Lancaster University Management School, UK.

Dr Helena Varkkey is an Associate Professor of Political Ecology at the Department of International and Strategic Studies, Universiti Malaya. Her areas of expertise include transboundary haze governance in Southeast Asia and global palm oil politics. Her monograph on “The Haze Problem in Southeast Asia: Palm Oil and Politics” was published by Routledge in 2016. Her latest book is a collection of essays on the politics of haze and the environment in Southeast Asia called “The Forests for the Palms” published by ISEAS Singapore in 2021. Dr Helena has almost two decades of experience in qualitative research, including conducting fieldwork, interviews, and focus groups among various government and non-government stakeholders, and has built up extensive research networks in countries across ASEAN. She has edited and produced reports for the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, UNICEF, and the ASEAN Secretariat.

Dr. Lee Wan Ling was a practicing clinical nurse in coronary ward from 1992 till she joined the college of nursing UMMC as educator in 2000, and became a lecturer at the Department of Nursing Science UM in 2011. She has more than two decades of experience in teaching and supervising nursing students in clinical areas. After obtaining her PhD in 2018, she is actively involved in research activities with keen interest in mobile-Health, technology in education, coronary nursing, aged care especially in long term facilities, cross-cultural adaptation and validation of questionnaire, health literacy, nursing education, critical care and non-communicable diseases. She started an mHealth project developing an electronic activity tracking system (EATs) prototype (Grant No: RF009C-2018) and has continually managed it with a team of UM collaborators and international partners in collective effort to build a hybrid cardiac rehabilitation.
