An Academician at the Faculty of Business & Economics, Universiti Malaya. My main research area is in Organizational Behavior. Specifically, my research areas are focusing on 'Factors in organization(s) that will increase and maintains individual well-being at the workplace'. My research areas cover workplace well-being, employee development, training and development, workplace positive psychology, and any other behavioral related studies in organizations including those at the strategic and corporate levels. The research requires consistent understanding of the current workforce issues, economics and financial conditions (macro & micro level), geo-economic levels, and to forecast future workforce strategy and demands, for both in Malaysia and at the international levels. Currently I am focusing on (Neuro)Diversity Workforce and Inclusivity which is one of the important elements under United Nation's (UN) SDGs Goals. show more »Noorhidawati Abdullah is Professor at the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (Science and Management Systems, 2000) and a Master's Degree in Information Technology (Information Systems Management, 2003), both from the National University of Malaysia. She earned her PhD from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, in 2008. Since joining Universiti Malaya in 2008, Noorhidawati has excelled in both teaching and leadership roles. She served as Head of the Department of Library and Information Science (2017–2021) and held key positions such as Programme Coordinator for the Master of Information Technology (2008–2010) and the Master of Library and Information Science (2015–2021). She has taught a broad range of courses in information and library science, including databases, digital libraries, bibliometrics, scholarly publishing, research methodology, and data librarianship. Her research interests encompass Informetrics (including bibliometrics, scientometrics, and web analytics), and Digital Libraries (with a focus on tools, technologies, digital content, metadata, and usability) and scholarly communication. She is also an active researcher in Open Science, particularly in areas such as open access, open data, and research data management. As a certified trainer in Data Stewardship for Open Science, she has contributed significantly to capacity building in this field. In addition to her academic roles, Noorhidawati serves as the Chief Editor of the Malaysian Journal of Library and Information Science (MJLIS), which is indexed in Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), and other international indexing platforms. She is also an editorial board member of Public Library Quarterly. She is a member of the International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics (ISSI) and the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T). Noorhidawati’s expertise has been nationally recognised, and since 2022, she has served as a subject matter expert in MyCite Scientific Journal Evaluation, underscoring her leadership in the evaluation and advancement of scholarly communication in Malaysia.
show more »Dr. Sabri Sulaiman is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Anthropology and Sociology, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. Dr. Sabri Sulaiman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Administration and Justice with a minor in anthropology and sociology, Master’s in Social Intervention, and a PhD in Social Services, all from the University of Malaya (UM). His academic journey has been marked by a consistent commitment to vulnerable and marginalised populations, with his Master’s thesis focusing on Social Deprivation and the Social Well-being of Malaysian Children, and his PhD research contributing to the development of a Community-Based Social Care Model for Street-Connected Children. Dr. Sabri has collaborated with and consulted for government agencies, including the National Population and Family Development Board (NPFDB) or LPPKN. Dr. Sabri's areas of interest focus on child and family policy and welfare, Social Care, Social Intervention, Social Needs, Social Policy, Social Rights, Social Justice, Inequality, Social mobility and Social Protection. Using mixed methods, his current research interest and primary work focus on: Analysing and responding to global and local challenges that impact the well-being of marginalised children and families, including children and families affected by poverty, those in conflict with the law, children trapped in the worst forms of child labour and trafficking, disabilities, the homeless, undocumented and stateless, as well as children and families with multiple complex needs. Strengthening governance, social care systems, disability policy, inclusive education policy, social protection and welfare policies to drive meaningful social change and ensure equitable access to essential services. Combating inequalities in social care and unmet need for care, health and education inequality through evidence-based interventions and policies that prioritise child and family well-being. Promoting inclusive, rights-based approaches to social justice and rights, ensuring that marginalised and vulnerable children and families receive the care, protection, and opportunities they deserve. Evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness of policies and intervention frameworks to foster accountability, sustainability, and continuous improvement in social care and policy systems. Dr Sabri welcomes expressions of interest and collaboration on any of the following areas. Beyond academia, he is actively involved in applied research, collaboration and consultancy, particularly with ministries, government agencies, international organisations, and marginalised communities. His work reflects a deep commitment to addressing societal challenges through rigorous research, practical interventions, and impactful intervention and policy development. He is currently leading several major research initiatives, including "A Study on Risk Behaviours in At-Risk Adolescents in Malaysia" and "Creating Inclusive Digital Education for Students with Disabilities in Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia." He is also authoring two forthcoming books, namely "Social Care for Street Children in Malaysia" and "Sociology Perspective on Justice and Care of Vulnerable Children and Families: Issues, Policy, and Intervention." His work is internationally recognized, and he holds memberships in various professional bodies, including the Association of Southeast Asian Studies in the United Kingdom (ASEASUK), the Social Policy Association, the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, the Malaysian Association of Social Workers (MASW), and the International Sociological Association. Dr. Sabri has published widely in international and regional peer-reviewed journals, contributed chapters to scholarly books, and presented his research at numerous international conferences. He welcomes collaborative opportunities with scholars, practitioners, and institutions working to promote justice, equity, policy and social care systems that leave no one behind.
