Dr Noorhidawati Abdullah is a Professor at the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (Science and Management Systems) in 2000 and a Master's degree in Information Technology (Information Systems Management) in 2003, both from the National University of Malaysia. Dr Noorhidawati obtained her PhD from the University of Strathclyde Glasgow in 2008. Dr Noorhidawati has held several leadership positions at the University of Malaya. From 2017-2021, she was the Head of the Department of Library and Information Science. Her roles have included Programme Coordinator for the Master of Information Technology Programme (2008-2010) and Programme Coordinator for the Master of Library and Information Science (2015 - 2021). Dr Noorhidawati started her academic career in 2008 and has taught a variety of information and library science subjects such as databases, information management technologies, digital libraries, digital humanities, bibliometrics and scholarly publishing, data librarianship, library and society, library and information services, undergraduate and postgraduate research methodology. Her research interests include Informetrics (Bibliometrics, Scientometrics and Web Analytics), Digital Library (Digital Library Tools and Technologies, Digital Content and Collections, Metadata, Users and Usability), and Digital Literacy (Information Literacy, E-Reading, Early Literacy), Noorhidawati is also interested in the research area of Open Science, which includes Open Access, Open Data and Research Data Management. She is also a trainer of Data Stewardship for Open Science (MOSP) and Data Steward Universiti Malaya Open Science (UMOS). She was appointed as field expert in MyCite Scientific Journal Evaluation since 2022.
