She currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Nursing Science, University of Malaya, and is nationally and internationally recognized for her expertise in patient safety, infection control, nutrition support therapy, and oncology nursing. She holds a PhD in Hospital Quality Management (Patient Safety) from the University of Malaya and has advanced qualifications in oncology nursing and healthcare management. She also served as Coordinator in the Quality Department at University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for over three years, where she led initiatives in clinical governance, patient safety, and healthcare quality improvement. Throughout her career, Dr. Karthikayini has held progressive leadership roles in nursing—from front-line clinical care to senior hospital administration—across a wide range of specialties including general surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, burns and plastic, cardiothoracic, oncology, psychiatry, general medicine, hematology, neurology, ENT, orthopedics, and pediatrics. She contributed to the development of in-house electronic medical record (EMR) systems at UMMC, including modules for the National Early Warning Score (NEWS), fall prevention, delirium assessment, and a House Officer Dashboard System. A dedicated educator and mentor, Dr. Karthikayini is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate nursing education. She has delivered keynote addresses and lectures at numerous national and international conferences, and has facilitated professional development workshops on patient safety, clinical nutrition, and falls prevention. Her research focuses on patient safety culture, fall prevention, medication safety in older adults, and interprofessional collaboration. She has published in peer-reviewed journals such as Age and Ageing, International Journal of Clinical Practice, and Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness. Dr. Karthikayini has received multiple accolades, including the Venus International Award for Excellence in Oncology Nursing, UMMC Excellence Service Awards, and recognition for her leadership in quality improvement, both locally and internationally. She is a registered member of the Nursing Board of Malaysia, a life member of the Malaysian Nurses Association, and a committee member of the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) focusing on patient safety (research and training). With a steadfast commitment to advancing nursing practice and strengthening healthcare systems, Dr. Karthikayini continues to lead transformative initiatives to improve patient care and clinical outcomes in Malaysia and beyond.

Dr. Chiu Chee Kidd is an Associate Professor in University of Malaya and a Consultant Spine Surgeon in University Malaya Specialist Centre. He specializes in spinal surgery for patients with disorders of the thoracic and lumbar spine with focus on degenerative, deformity and traumatic pathologies. Dr. Chiu is an active member of numerous professional spine societies such as the Malaysian Spine Society (MSS), Asia Pacific Spine Society (APSS), AOSpine and Scoliosis Research Society (SRS). Dr. Chiu’s expertise was grounded on his research on spinal disorders and had published his researches in both local and international journals. His master’s degree thesis won the “Singapore Medical Journal Best Published Article of the Year”. His researches also won several awards in local and international conferences. Amongst them were the International Minimal Invasive Surgery Spine Congress Best Oral Paper Presentation Award, 4th International MSS Scientific Congress Best Research Award, Bioeconomy Innovation Award, PECIPTA 2017 Gold Award, Asia Pacific Spine Society & Asian Spine Journal Best Clinical Research Award, 47th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Spine Surgery and Related Research English Presentation Award, 1st Annual Meeting of the Singapore Spine Society First Prize Award, Malaysian Spine Society Presidential Best Research Award, 48th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Spine Surgery and Related Research Gold Prize English Presentation Award and Korean Society of Spine Surgery Best Paper Award. Dr. Chiu is a peer reviewer for several local and international journals such as Scientific Reports, PLoS ONE, BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, Acta Orthopaedica et Traumatologica Turcica, Malaysian Orthopaedic Journal, Journal of Orthoapedic Surgery, Asian Spine Journal, Journal of Investigative Surgery, Clinical Interventions in Aging, Current Medical Research & Opinion and Medical Devices Evidence and Research. He had been awarded as the “top ten reviewer” by Journal of Orthoapedic Surgery.

Associate Profssor Ir. Dr. Mohd Sayuti Ab Karim is a distinguished Associate Professor at Universiti Malaya. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Aided Design (CAD/CAM) Engineering from Universiti Malaya in 2006. Driven by a passion for advanced manufacturing, he pursued postgraduate studies in Engineering Science, focusing on Advanced Manufacturing Processes, and completed his PhD in 2013. Dr. Sayuti's research journey began in 2006 as a Research Assistant at the Advanced Manufacturing and Material Processing (AMMP) Centre. Over the years, he has led numerous projects related to design and manufacturing, significantly contributing to the field. His research has been widely recognized, with over 40 ISI-indexed papers and more than 10 patents showcasing his innovative work. In addition to his academic and research achievements, Dr. Sayuti excels in product design and development, employing a systematic approach to create innovative solutions. Among the products he has developed are the Automatic Thermocyclic Dipping Machine, CNC Lathe Machine, Automated Methadone Dispensing Machine, and an Alcohol Detection Device. He has also developed expertise in machine learning, having completed a specialized course in Python programming. Dr. Sayuti is proficient in various simulation activities, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using ANSYS software. His technical expertise is highly valued, and he serves as a technical advisor for the Institute Latihan Perindustrian Ipoh and Vocational School Sungai Buloh. Furthermore, he has extensive experience in developing Occupational Frameworks for the Department of Skills and Development under the Ministry of Human Resources, particularly in the wood manufacturing industry. Beyond his academic and advisory roles, Dr. Sayuti is the General Manager at Zecttron Sdn Bhd, a spin-off company from Universiti Malaya. In this capacity, he oversees the company's strategic direction and operations, leveraging his extensive knowledge and experience to drive innovation and growth. Dr. Sayuti is a Chartered Engineer (UK) with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and has been a professional engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) since 2022. His professional affiliations and certifications underscore his commitment to maintaining high standards in engineering practice. Throughout his career, Dr. Sayuti has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing the field of engineering through research, innovation, and education.
