DR. FARID MOHAMMADI

Farid Mohammadi is a Lecturer at the University of Malaya, Malaysia, specialising in 19th-century British literature, travel narratives, and environmental aesthetics. His research focuses primarily on British aesthetic traditions of the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly the Sublime, the Picturesque, Victorian material culture, and the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. He completed his PhD at the University of Malaya with a dissertation on Tolkien’s literary landscapes. Since 2023, Farid has served as Deputy Editor for the English Department’s journal, SARE: Southeast Asian Review of English.Farid has published several papers on Tolkien, with manuscripts appearing in leading WoS-indexed journals including Oxford University Press’s British Journal of Aesthetics, Wiley’s Literature Compass, Routledge’s Critique: Studies in Contemporary Fiction, The Explicator, International Feminist Journal of Politics, Johns Hopkins University Press’s Victorian Review, Routledge’s Journal of Postcolonial Writing, Edinburgh University Press’s Victoriographies, and the Oxford Literary Circle’s Journal of Inklings Studies. He is currently working on two monographs: one on Tolkien’s literary landscapes and another on Tolkien’s engagement with philosophy.

DR. HAZWAN ARIFF BIN HAKIMI

Dr. Hazwan Ariff Hakimi is a poetic architect and academic whose career bridges architectural history, theory, and practice. With a PhD in Architecture (Graduate on Time with Excellent Thesis) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and a Master of Arts in Architectural History (Distinction) from The Bartlett, University College London (UCL), he embodies a rare synthesis of professional rigour and scholarly depth. His research delves into architectural historiographies, postcolonial theories, and the Islamisation of architecture in the Malay-Indonesian Archipelago. His scholarly works, including refereed journal articles and book chapters, have been widely recognised, earning him prestigious awards such as the UKM Excellent Thesis Award and the International Conference on Regional Architecture and Built Environment (seniBINA) Gold Award. Dr. Hazwan's interdisciplinary approach enriches the discourse on the intersection of traditional and modern architecture, literature, and philosophy. As a design architect, he has contributed to landmark projects such as the Rica Residence in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the City International Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He fosters critical thinking and innovative design in academia through courses like Architectural Theory and Philosophy, encouraging students to connect theoretical constructs with practical applications. Dr. Hazwan's dedication extends beyond the classroom. He is a registered member of professional bodies, including the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM), the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), and the Historians of Islamic Art Association (HIAA), actively contributing to architectural and cultural dialogues. His editorial roles and jury appointments reflect his commitment to advancing the field and nurturing emerging talents. ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. NADER GHAFFARI KHALIGH

Nader Ghaffari Khaligh received his Ph.D. in Organic chemistry from the University of Guilan, Iran, in 2013. Since 2015 he has worked as a researcher at the Nanotechnology & Catalysis Research Center, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. His publications, including papers, reviews, and mini-reviews, are focused on heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis, sustainable chemistry, green chemistry, energy, synthesis of heterocycles, and multi-task reagents. ‎ He has been elected as World's Top 2% Scientist Career-Long Citation ‎Impact and World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. He received a Chinese Chemical Letter Excellent Paper in 2017 and the Best Research Award in International Research Award on Oncology, Cancer Research in 2022, the Advanced Materials Award in 2024, and the Green Materials Prize in 2024. He is the executive editor, section editor, and associate editor of three international journals. He is a member of the editorial board of several international journals.
