Dr. Siti Idayu Hasan is a Senior Lecturer in the Family Health Discipline at the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. After completing her PhD, she embarked on a significant journey as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UMCAS, collaborating with the International Tobacco Control project team in Canada. Her work focused on measuring the psychosocial and behavioral impact of key national-level policies under the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). She is a Fellow of Hong Kong WHO Collaborating Centre (Tobacco Control) and Committee Member of Scientific Research Tobacco Working Group (WHO FCTC Malaysia). Continuing her career, Dr. Siti Idayu became the Impact Project Manager at UMCares. In this role, she led the development and management of frameworks to monitor, evaluate, and enhance the effectiveness of community-oriented projects. Her efforts have been pivotal in ensuring that these initiatives bring about meaningful and sustainable improvements in society. Dr. Siti Idayu’s current research themes include tobacco control, mental health, and impact evaluation. Her work in tobacco control encompasses projects like Smoking Cessation, Organizing, Planning, and Execution (SCOPE), Generational Endgame (GEG), and the International Tobacco Control (ITC) project. She is also deeply involved in mental health research, aiming to address and mitigate mental health issues within the community. Beyond her research, Dr. Siti Idayu consults in the expanding field of public health, with a particular focus on tobacco control and mental health. She enjoys engaging with the community through health promotion activities, such as the Generational Endgame initiative, conducted in various settings (i.e. workplace, school and public) to raise awareness and drive positive behavioral change. Dr. Siti Idayu's commitment to improving public health is unwavering. Her work is not just about research and academia; it’s about making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and communities. She believes that through collaborative efforts and a deep-seated commitment to health promotion, we can create a healthier, more resilient future for everyone. show more »Sheue-Li Ong is a senior lecturer in the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya. She is also honored to serve as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa (2022 - 2025). Within her academic role, Dr. Ong primarily focuses on teaching mathematics and programming courses. During her undergraduate studies, Dr. Ong, originally a Mathematics student, had the opportunity to complete an internship at the Central Bank of Malaysia, which greatly influenced her decision to pursue further studies in the field of Economics. Dr. Ong has had the privilege of receiving full scholarships for her master's and Ph.D. studies, which included three memorable years spent studying in Japan. This experience greatly contributed to her knowledge and passion for her research areas. Upon completing her studies, she served as a visiting scholar at Edith Cowan University in Australia (2016) and Yokohama National University in Japan (2017). She also pursued a three-month fellowship at Yokohama National University in 2023, further enhancing her knowledge and collaborations. With a specialization in time series analysis, Dr. Ong's research interests lie in the field of international economics. Her contributions to the academic community have been recognized through a number of best paper awards for her collaborative publications with esteemed co-researchers. Furthermore, she has been granted funding from esteemed organizations such as the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Institut Masa Depan Malaysia (MASA), and the Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC). Beyond her academic responsibilities, Dr. Ong serves as a coordinator for graduate employability, actively supporting students in developing the skills and knowledge necessary for success in their professional journeys. She maintains a strong commitment to continuous learning and building her expertise, with a profound desire to make positive contributions to society.
show more »Nader Ghaffari Khaligh received his Ph.D. in Organic chemistry from the University of Guilan, Iran, in 2013. Since 2015 he has worked as a researcher in the Nanotechnology & Catalysis Research Center, at Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. His publications, including papers, reviews, and mini-reviews, are focused on heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis, sustainable chemistry and energy, synthesis of heterocycles, and multi-task reagents such as Ionic liquids and Functional polymers. He has been elected as World's Top 2% Scientist Career-Long Citation Impact and World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. He is the Associate Editor and Section Editor of two international journals and an Editorial board member of a few international journals.
