PROF. DR. MOHAMAD SUFFIAN BIN MOHAMAD ANNUAR

Mohamad Suffian bin Mohamad Annuar is a leading researcher in bioprocess technology and advanced biomaterials, with a particular focus on medium-chain-length polyhydroxyalkanoates (mcl-PHA) derived from bacterial fermentation of local renewable resources. These mcl-PHA are prized for their biocompatibility, biodegradability, and versatile properties, making them ideal for a wide range of applications. His research group has pioneered the development of mcl-PHA-based hydrogels, which exhibit exceptional water absorption and mechanical strength, making them suitable for tissue engineering and controlled drug delivery systems. His team has also explored the use of mcl-PHA in creating bone scaffolds that support cell growth and closely mimic natural bone structures. Furthermore, they have advanced the field by developing mcl-PHA nanoparticles, which hold significant potential for targeted drug delivery and biomedical imaging applications. Additionally, their investigations into mcl-PHA-based composites and blends have shown promise for renewable energy and water purification applications. With a research approach that balances fundamental and applied aspects, his research group contributes over 120 publications in reputable scientific journals. He has successfully supervised 16 Ph.D. and 33 Master's projects to completion. His laboratory, known for its multi-disciplinary scientific approach, has secured research funding in excess of MYR 4 million through its own projects and collaborative efforts, and continues to welcome and foster multi-disciplinary scientific collaborations.

Prof. Mazlina's TBI research has been widely published in medical journals, and she serves as Associate Editor for Neurology Asia (WoS) and Journal of Health and Translational Medicine (Scopus). She has co-authored numerous chapters and books, including a contribution to the globally recognized textbook Braddom's Rehabilitation Care. Her influence extends to keynote addresses at international conferences including the World Congress of the International Society of Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine and invited clinical workshops in Southeast Asia. Additionally, she founded and leads the Malaysian Association of Rehabilitation Physicians' Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Special Interest Groups, focusing on clinical training, education, and public awareness. Prof. Mazlina has supervised over 50 postgraduates, including the first PhD graduate from the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Universiti Malaya. Her leadership extends to chairing the National Conjoint Board for Rehabilitation Medicine Specialty and serving as a Medical Specialty Program Panel Evaluator for the Malaysian Medical Council. She is also part of the World Health Organisation's expert review group for Rehabilitation Intervention toolkit. Beyond academia, Prof. Mazlina frequently serves as an expert medical witness in medico-legal TBI cases. Clinically, she is a pioneer, being the first Malaysian rehabilitation physician with a Research & Clinical Fellowship in brain injury rehabilitation and the first Malaysian appointed to the Asian Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Society SIG Council. MR. GABRIEL SAMSON A/L THAMIL SALVAN

My name is Gabriel Samson, and I have been teaching English for over a decade, beginning in 2013 as an Instructor in ELS Malaysia. I then joined the Teach for Malaysia initiative as a High-Impact Teaching Fellow posted in a high-needs secondary school in Klang for two years. After that, I was confirmed in the goverment service as a secondary school teacher and was redeployed to SMK Sungai Besar, Sabak Bernam for lack of quality English teachers in that region.     I also am the registered Treasurer and Programme Lead for a student education enterprise (formerly as a project society) named Project Impianku Destinasiku (Project ID) that has impacted thousands of students in the span of 9 years since its inception. The goal of this enterprise to to formulate and execute high-impact activities to guide students in finding their true passion and ambition in life at a post-secondary level.   In May of 2017, I became a part-time lecturer for the Foundation in English programme in the CDFS faculty in UNISEL, and I have since realized since that my true passion and skills-set lies within the domain of lecturing or tutoring English academic subjects to young adults.   I was accepted in University Malaya as an English language lecturer in 2018, where I have been teaching since. I am also a lifetime Level 3 Officer of Kesatuan Olahraga Malaysia (KOM) and champion of several sporting competitions, including the Skrine Regatta Dragon Boat Race in 2019.
