DR. WOO CHAW SENG

Woo Chaw Seng completed his B.Comp.Sc. and M.Comp.Sc. at the University of Malaya(UM) in 1996 and 1999 respectively. He joined the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at UM in 1999 as a lecturer. A SIRIM patent was granted out of his Masters thesis. Serving as a fellow in the 5th Residential College from 2000 to 2003 provided him lots of management skills and softskills. He received a fully financed Study Leave Award from UM to study PhD at QUT Australia in 2004-2006. UM appointed him to serve as Principal of the 1st Residential College from 2008 to 2012. The university management also appointed him to serve as Head of Artificial Intelligence Department in his faculty from 2009 to 2011. He was awarded a fully financed 9-month sabbatical leave in 2012. Dr Woo has been actively doing research, supervising postgraduates, managing research grants, attending workshops/seminars, and publishing in conferences and journals. His research interests include image processing, computer security, and mobile computing.

DR. MUHAMMAD IZZUL SYAHMI BIN ZULKEPLI

Muhammad Izzul Syahmi Zulkepli has been a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Shariah and Economics, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya, since July 2024. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Shariah (Shariah and Economics) from Universiti Malaya in 2018, followed by a Master's Degree by research at the same institution in 2020, focusing on Islamic banking. He then pursued a PhD at Universiti Malaya, specializing in the application of fintech in Islamic banking operations, and successfully completed it in 2023. Driven by a passion for expanding knowledge, he is dedicated to learning, exploring, and sharing insights in the fields of Islamic economics, Islamic banking, Islamic finance, and Islamic fintech. His academic career has seen significant contributions, including the publication of a book, several book chapters, and numerous articles in highly indexed and other reputable journals. Additionally, he has presented his research at various local and international conferences, further cementing his expertise and thought leadership in his field.

DR. CHARITY LEE CHIN AI

Charity Lee is currently Senior Lecturer and Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation) at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, Universiti Malaya. Her main areas of research include narrative analysis and discourse analysis, particularly involving social practices surrounding migrant and vulnerable groups, as well as narrative methodology. Her research also includes communication practices in media, politics, and healthcare. More recently, she has begun employing participatory and arts-based methods in her work with vulnerable groups. She has published in Sociological Research Online; Discourse, Context and Media; Discourse and Society; Emotion, Space and Society; Patient Education and Counseling; International Journal of Medical Informatics; and Perspectives - Studies in Translation Theory and Practice. She teaches German linguistics at the undergraduate level and a range of discourse analysis approaches at the post-graduate levels. She welcomes supervision of postgraduate students on topics relating to healthcare and forced migration employing discourse analysis, particularly narrative analysis approaches, participatory action research and arts-based research.
