PROF. GS. DR. ROSMADI BIN FAUZI

Professor Gs. Dr. Rosmadi Fauzi is a distinguished scholar in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) whose research explores spatial thinking, human behaviour, and the complex relationship between space and society within the social sciences. He serves as a Professor at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. He obtained all his academic qualifications from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), including a Bachelor of Social Science (Political Science), a Master of Science, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in GIS. Throughout his academic career, he has held several key administrative positions, including Head of the Department of Geography and Deputy Dean (Research and Development). With a strong interdisciplinary foundation bridging geospatial technology and social science perspectives, Professor Rosmadi investigates critical geographical issues through socially oriented mapping and spatial big data analytics. His work has contributed to the development of spatial modelling frameworks that advance the understanding of social, political, and economic dynamics in Malaysia’s multicultural and spatially diverse landscape. A prolific researcher, he has published extensively in Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus-indexed journals, as well as in books, book chapters, and conference proceedings. His research collaborations span national and international levels, focusing on public perception, social impacts of development, spatial justice, and political behaviour. Beyond academia, Professor Rosmadi is also a political analyst and media consultant, offering spatially informed insights to bridge academic knowledge with public understanding. His contributions extend globally through research expeditions to Antarctica and mapping studies in Baitulmuqaddis, reflecting his enduring commitment to advancing geographical scholarship and international scientific collaboration.

DR. NURHAFIZA BINTI ZAINAL

Dr. Nurhafiza Binti Zainal is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Medical Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. She holds a Dual PhD in Medical Microbiology from Universiti Malaya and Medicine from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. Additionally, she earned an MRes in Biotechnology from Imperial College London, United Kingdom, and a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Universiti Malaya. Her areas of expertise include immunology and virology. Dr. Nurhafiza’s research explores the intricate relationship between viruses and the host immune response, particularly the role of host protein expression and genetic factors in shaping disease outcomes. Her work also investigates mechanisms such as cross-reactive immunity and antibody-dependent enhancement to improve vaccine development and antiviral strategies. She has served as both Principal Investigator and Co-Researcher on numerous national-level research grants, including projects under the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), MOSTI, and Universiti Malaya internal funding schemes. Dr. Nurhafiza is also the recipient of the prestigious IEIF International Education Innovation Fund – ASEAN Research Collaboration Project, hosted by The University of Adelaide. Her awarded project focuses on the development and evaluation of inactivated vaccines for viral diseases, with potential applications in animal health. In addition to her scientific research, Dr. Nurhafiza is involved in interdisciplinary initiatives such as One Health programs and sustainability-focused projects related to menstrual health and environmental responsibility

DR. HASHEM SALARZADEH JENATABADI

Hashem Salarzadeh Jenatabadi is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Science and Technology Studies, Faculty of Science, University of Malaya. He holds Postdoc, PhD degrees in Applied Statistics, from University of Malaya, and Master, Bachelor degrees in Mathematical Statistics areas from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. His expertise involves application of Statistical and Mathematical modeling in Engineering, Management, Public health, Chemistry, and Economics.
