ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. PETER ANING ANAK TEDONG

Peter Aning Tedong joined the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Malaya in December 2014. He is currently the Head of Department of Urban and Regional Planning. He also serves as the Head of Centre for Malaysian Indigenous Studies. As urban studies and housing scholar, Peter Aning’s broad areas of interest cover housing policy and governance, political economy in urban planning, and neighborhood sustainability and planning. He has received numerous research grants both from the public and private sectors. Recently completed projects explored the socio-spatial planning plans in the context of the urban future in Malaysia and the poverty among the indigenous communities in rural areas. He has also carried out work on the role of governance in governing vulnerable communities (refugees, stateless and foreign workers) and examining various issues related to housing and migration in Malaysian Cities. His latest area of interest is multi-layered governance of affordable housing, the Sustainable Development Goals in relation to neighborhood and community planning, and the impacts of migration towards regional and urban development.  Peter’s empirical focus is on the South East Asia region, but he has conducted fieldwork in Europe, Borneo Islands, North America, and also Oceania countries.

PROF. DR. CHAI WEN LIN

  Associate Professor Dr Chai Wen Lin BDS (Malaya), MDSc (Malaya), FDSRCS (England), PhD (Sheffield) Associate Professor Dr Chai Wen Lin graduated from University of Malaya in 1994. She joined Ministry of Health as a dental officer in Ipoh. She then pursued her specialist training and obtained her Fellowship from Royal College of Surgeons of England (FDSRCS) in 1998. With her interest in teaching, she returned to her alma matter to be a lecturer till now. Throughout her tenure as a lecturer, she never stops learning; she started her research journey since then and finally obtained her Master in Dental Science in 2005 and PhD in 2010. She has had experienced in various area of researches, such as endodontic, implant-soft tissue interface and qualitative study. The study topics include the morphology of C-shaped canal, the antimicrobial efficacy of intracanal medicaments in Enterococcus faecalis biofilm, development of an in-vitro tissue-engineered oral mucosal model for the investigation of implant-soft tissue interface and more recently, a qualitative study on patients’ perception. Her researches have brought her multiple local and international awards. She has published numerous articles in local and foreign journals, not only pertaining to her research topics but also on various aspects of dentistry.

MADAM SITI AISHAH BINTI MOHD ROSLAN

Siti Aishah is a language lecturer at the Department of English Language, Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, Universiti Malaya. She has more than a yearlong experience as an educator in the English language field, supported with a Master’s degree in English Language Studies (MELS) and a Bachelor’s degree of Arts English from the prestigious University of Malaya. Concurrently, she is undergoing a scholarly publication journey centralising on Online Language Learning. Her expertise involves teaching English related courses, covering both proficiency and major programmes. She also has impeccable tutorship experience, guiding TESL graduating students in completing their research paper. She hopes to continue adopting collaborative and engaging teaching approaches via digital teaching and learning tools and applications to challenge language learners in using language to connect and grow with full confidence.
