IR. DR. TAN CHIN JOO

Tan Chin Joo is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UM. He obtained both his Bachelor of Engineering degree and Master of Engineering Science degree from UM in year 1999 and 2003, respectively. He was a tutor in UM 1999 and later be promoted to a lecturer in 2003. In 2005, he was offered a scholarship by JICA for his doctoral study in Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan. After completing his study in 2008, he joined TOPY Industries Limited, Japan. After 3 years of working in TOPY (2 years in R&D Dept. and 1 year in Production Dept.), he returned to Malaysia and joined Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). He joined UM in December, 2011. His research interests include stamping of lightweight parts, finite element analysis of metal forming processes, laser hardening, green forming processes, tube forming.

DR. LEONG SZE WEI

Sze Wei Leong received his PhD in medicinal chemistry from Univeristi Putra Malaysia in 2014, for which he was awarded the National Science Fellowship (NSF) Scholarship from the Malaysian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MoSTI). Upon completion of his PhD, he was appointed as an assistant researcher in natural product chemistry at the Laboratory of Natural Products, Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia. In 2017, he was appointed as a post-doctoral fellow in cancer pharmacology at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia. His doctoral and post-doctoral experiences have equipped him with knowledge and techniques in medicinal chemistry, natural product chemistry, and cancer pharmacology.  His research is now focusing on small molecule-based drug discovery, particularly in the search of synthetic multi-functional anti-cancer drugs.

SR DR. NUR FARHANA BINTI AZMI

Nur Farhana Azmi is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Building Surveying, Universiti Malaya. She holds a PhD degree in Building Control and Performance, and Bachelor degree in Building Surveying. Her doctoral thesis focused on sustaining the identity of small towns in Malaysia from the perspective of building regulations and requirements. Her current research interests are in Building Control, Building Regulations, and Urban Conservation. She has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines of built environment and has published a number of publications in journals, proceedings, and book chapters. Professionally, Farhana is a full member of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (MRISM).
