Dr Muggundha Raoov s/o Ramachandran is an analytical chemist and currently a Senior Lecturer at Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. Dr. Muggundha received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Malaya in 2015 and fully funded by Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (SLAB/SLAI Scholarship). He received his M.Sc. degree in Analytical Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis from University of Malaya and his bachelor degree in Analytical and Environmental Chemistry (1st class) from the University of Malaysia Terengganu in 2011 and 2009, respectively. He was attached to Cluster of Integrative Medicine, Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) as a Senior Lecturer after completed his Ph.D. To date, more than 40 ISI journals have been published with h index of 11 which comprised of 358 citations in the field of ionic liquids in separation sciences, extraction techniques and new material development for analytical applications. Besides publication, he has also managed to won few Gold Medals in few research innovation competition such as International Invention, Innovation and Design (IIID UITM CNS 2018), Universiti Teknologi Mara Negeri Sembilan, 2018, Penang International Inventation, Innovation and Research Design Platform (PIID 2017), Universiti Teknologi Mara, 2017 and Johan Pertandingan Inovasi GEN PJ MBPJ 2018 KATEGORI IPT, Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya, 2018. He also received best Oral Presenter award at The International Conference of Analytical Sciences (SKAM), 2018 and Certificate of Excellence in Publication from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), 2018. He has secured few national grants such Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS, MOE) and Internal Research Grant as a Principle Investigator and Co-researcher. At this moment he is actively supervising BSC, MSC and PHD research mode students and with his expertise, he has been appointed as reviewers, panel, and examiners. Dr Muggundha Raoov s/o Ramachandran has also received professional recognition as Registered Chemist from Institute of Chemistry (IKM, Malaysia), Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and Malaysian Ionic Liquid Research Society (MILRS). show more »Muhammad Izzul Syahmi Zulkepli has been a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Shariah and Economics, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya, since July 2024. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Shariah (Shariah and Economics) from Universiti Malaya in 2018, followed by a Master's Degree by research at the same institution in 2020, focusing on Islamic banking. He then pursued a PhD at Universiti Malaya, specializing in the application of fintech in Islamic banking operations, and successfully completed it in 2023. Driven by a passion for expanding knowledge, he is dedicated to learning, exploring, and sharing insights in the fields of Islamic economics, Islamic banking, Islamic finance, and Islamic fintech. His academic career has seen significant contributions, including the publication of a book, several book chapters, and numerous articles in highly indexed and other reputable journals. Additionally, he has presented his research at various local and international conferences, further cementing his expertise and thought leadership in his field.
show more »Dr Catherine Thamarai Arumugam is currently attached to the Family Health Discipline, Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya as a Medical Lecturer with a specialisation in Public Health Medicine. Her past publications speaks of her interest in the research on early childhood development, infectious diseases and her love for poetries. In an unwavering effort of creating a safe media environment for thriving children - she is interested to further explore on the dynamics of technology, toddlers and family relationships. A medical degree holder from Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia - her journey as a junior doctor started at the Sungai Buloh Hospital which is also the national referral centre for infectious disease. Upon completion of housemanship training, she went on to serve as a Medical Officer in Charge of a maternal child health clinic in the district of Temerloh, Pahang. The responsibility entrusted granted her invaluable experience especially in the domains of maternal child health and disaster preparedness – stirring the passion towards public health. Dr Catherine went back to Temerloh District Health Office with a Doctorate in Public Health from Universiti Malaya - serving as an Epidemiology Officer, heading the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Unit during the COVID19 rampage. Her major tasks revolved around surveillance, outbreak response, training activities and playing the role of liaison officer for the state-level CDC department. From Ministry of Health to Ministry of Higher Education – Dr Catherine has now started her new venture as a medical lecturer, striving to be an advocate for public health issues she is passionate about through her research works and creative writings!
