DR. SIOW PEI YI

Dr. Siow Pei Yi is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. Her research focuses on hybrid modal-machine learning damage diagnosis methods and digital twins for structural health monitoring. Research interests are structural health monitoring, machine learning, vibration, modal analysis, virtual instrumentation, computational mechanics, and signal processing. She is registered as a Graduate Engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). She has also been actively involved in industrial projects on structural and machinery vibration at semiconductor and on-shore oil, gas and petrochemical processing plants in Malaysia since 2019.

PROF. DR. MOHD ROSLAN BIN MOHD NOR

Mohd Roslan Mohd Nor is Professor at the Dept of Islamic History, Civilization and Education, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. He is currently the department's head, serving from April 2020 until now, and previously from 2009 to 2012. He was the Deputy Director (Research & Development) at the Academy of Islamic Studies from 1 July 2012 to 20 January 2019. Dr. Roslan’s broad academic interests involve Islamicjerusalem Studies, the Middle East,  Islam and multi-culturalism, Muslim affairs, religious studies and civilization. Dr. Roslan supervises postgraduate students, many of whom have received their master's and doctoral degrees from this university. He has been appointed as external examiner from several universities, within and outside the country. Dr. Roslan participated in the Study of the United States Institute on Religious Pluralism, University of California Santa Barbara (2010), and has been a Visiting Scholar at different institutions such as Al-Maktoum Institute, Scotland (2009) and Minzu University, Beijing (2012-2013). In early 2020, he was appointed as honorary academic member of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakhstan and delivered an online course for a complete semester that end in April 2020. Dr. Roslan has been invited to participate in international conferences as invited speaker in several universities, locally and internationally. He has a number of scholarly articles published in worldwide refereed and indexed journals (Web of Science and Scopus), and continues to be engaged actively in research. He was a recipient of 2018 MAPIM-KPT (then Ministry of Higher Education) award for book published in Social Sciences category. He also received a prestigious award Anugerah Akademik Negara (AAN) 2018 for book category. The book which he received the award entitled: The Significance of Islamicjerusalem in Islam, published in 2017 by Univ of Malaya Press. He has co-authored a book and published by UM Press in 2020 entitled: Konflik Gaza dan Misi Kemanusiaan Freedom Flotilla (Gaza Conflict and Humanitarian Mission of Freedom Flotilla). His recent co-authored book is Perkembangan Islam di Turkiye: Dari Era Khilafah hingga AKP (The Development of Islam in Turkiye: From the Era of Caliphate to AKP), published by UM Press in 2024. He has been appointed and completed his tenure as a Member of Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) for the period of 2021-2024. He is committed in community services and has served as Nazir (Chairman) of Masjid al-Mukarramah in Kuala Lumpur since 2012-now.

DR. ZAFIRA NADIA BINTI MAAZ

Senior Lecturer | Researcher in AI, Big Data, Construction Management and Sustainable Construction Dr. Zafira Nadia Maaz is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Quantity Surveying, Universiti Malaya, specializing in artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, and digital governance for the built environment. Her research focuses on AI-driven decision intelligence, data driven decision making, data governance, carbon management, and digital transformation in construction. She has played a key role in Construction 4.0 initiatives under the Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), contributing to the digitalization and modernization of construction practices through Big data. She has secured multiple government-funded and industry-funded research grants and collaborated with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Works Malaysia, RISM, CIDB, IEM, and JKR. She actively published in WoS and Scopus journals as well as co-authored several industry report, offering insights into Malaysia’s digitalization and data analytics in construction landscape. In 2023, she was invited to present her research on data analytics and AI at the University of Cambridge, a prestigious engagement funded by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. She is also the youngest female recipient of the RICS Young Achiever Award in Southeast Asia, distinction that acknowledges her contributions to advancing big data and AI applications in quantity surveying and the built environment. Beyond her academic and research pursuits, she is known for her open-minded and progressive approach to leadership, fostering a collaborative and innovative learning environment for students and professionals alike. She is deeply passionate about translating research into practical solutions that drive the construction industry forward through AI, data-driven governance, and sustainability.
