ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. ROZANA BINTI OTHMAN

Rozana Othman received her BSc (Hons) in Chemistry in 1995, and PhD degree in 2010 from Universiti Malaya. She joined the Pharmacy Department, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, in 1999 as a lecturer. She became a Senior Lecturer in 2007 and Associate Professor in 2016. She achieved top five Merck Young Scientist Award 2009, and was also awarded with the Bioinno Award in 2010 by Biotech Corp, Malaysia, The Jenesys Programme by The Japan Foundation in 2010, and the Asian Core Program Lectureship Award in 2014. Rozana initiated and worked towards the setting-up of the computational research lab in the faculty, which is now known as INSPirE (In Silico Pharmaceutical Suite). Currently, Rozana is the Head of the External Linkage Division under the Faculty of Pharmacy. She is also the Deputy Head for the Centre of Natural Products Research and Drug Discovery (CENAR), a founding member of the Drug Design and Development Research Group (DDDRG) Universiti Malaya, an associate member of the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry, and a member of the Malaysian Natural Products Society. Rozana was the Deputy Dean of Research & Development (2019-2021), Deputy Dean of Research, Value Creation and Enterprise (2022-2023) and Deputy Dean of Student Affairs (2023).  Her research interest revolves around the area of Medicinal Chemistry, Natural Products Chemistry and Computational Chemistry. Till date, she has supervised more than 16 PhD and 8 Masters by research students.

DR. CHONG YONG YEE

Yong Yee is a passionate social scientist dedicated to exploring the transformative power of sport and its impact on society. She is particularly interested in understanding the experiences of marginalized and underrepresented groups, such as women, refugees, and people with disabilities. Her research seeks to identify and address the challenges that these groups face in participating in sport, as well as to promote equitable and inclusive practices. Yong Yee's current research projects include capacity building for youth-led refugees' sport events, the future of sport and sustainability, and educating Paralympics Sports volunteers using the design thinking approach. These projects reflect her commitment to using research to inform and improve sport policy and practice.

PROF. DR. NOR ADINAR BINTI BAHARUDDIN

Dr Nor Adinar BAHARUDDIN received her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in 2010 from the University of Otago, New Zealand. Her thesis is on bone healing in animal model. Dr Baharuddin returned home and continues research in her field of interest; on periodontal screening tools, biomarkers for periodontitis, regeneration, animal model and obesity related to periodontal disease. She has published articles in various international journals.  At present, she is a Professor (Periodontology) at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya Kuala Lumpur. She has 28 years of experience in teaching, research and management roles. Among all, she has served as the Deputy Dean of Research from February 2022 until December 2024; and the Head of Department in 2006 and from 2011-2014. She played a pivotal role in positioning the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya, among the Top 100 in the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2025, establishing it as Malaysia’s sole ranked programme in the field. She has been involved in curriculum development for both undergraduate and postgraduate programme. She contributes as a panel for the Accreditation Assessment for the Postgraduate Dental Education and a committee member for the DentSEdC under the Dental Specialist Assessment Programme Committee for Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA). She also serves as a committee for the Professional Qualifying Examination for the Malaysian Dental Council.
