DR. SUFFIAN HAQIEM BIN NOR AZELAN

Dr. Suffian Haqiem currently serves at the Department of Shariah and Economics, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya. He earned his bachelor's degree in Shariah and Economics in 2018. In 2024, he obtained his PhD in Islamic Banking from the University of Malaya.

DR. AHMAD DANIAL BIN AZZAHARI

Dr. Ahmad Danial Azzahari is a chemist and academic specializing in polymer chemistry and materials science. He holds a BSc (Hons., 2010) in Applied Chemistry, an MSc in Polymer Chemistry (2012), and a PhD in Polymer Chemistry (2018), all from Universiti Malaya. Ahmad Danial's professional journey began with a brief stint at MIMOS Bhd in 2010, followed by several years as a tutor at Universiti Malaya, teaching undergraduate (2010-2013) and foundation (2018-2019) chemistry courses. He received the UM Bright Sparks scholarship program from 2014 to 2018, recognizing his academic excellence. In 2020, he joined the Centre for Foundation Studies in Science (PASUM) where he currently works as a senior lecturer for the Chemistry Division, while also being an active member of the Centre for Ionics Universiti Malaya (CIUM) at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, UM. His research focuses on materials science, polymer synthesis and characterization, chemometrics, polymer electrolytes and polymer composites. Alongside his academic pursuits, he enjoys art, miniature scale modeling, music, and reading.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. WONG WON FEN

Dr. Wong Won Fen is a faculty member at the Department of Medical Microbiology, Universiti Malaya, where she has served since 2012. She is an immunologist with research interests in host–pathogen interactions, immune regulation, and inflammation, with a particular focus on the immunopathogenesis of sexually transmitted infections such as Chlamydia trachomatis and HIV. Her research integrates molecular and cellular immunology to understand immune dynamics and develop strategies for improving disease prognosis, vaccine development, and novel immunotherapeutic interventions. Dr. Wong received her early scientific training at Tohoku University, Japan, under the supervision of Professor Masanobu Satake. To date, she has published more than 115 peer-reviewed articles, with an h-index of 37 and over 5,200 citations. She has received several international recognitions, including the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellowship, Fulbright Visiting Scholarship, and the Institut Mérieux Young Investigator Award. At Universiti Malaya, Dr. Wong teaches in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. She serves as the Course Coordinator for Immunology in the MBBS programme and for Advanced Medical Microbiology in the Biomedical Science programme, in addition to her role as Faculty Ph.D. Programme Coordinator and Quality Management System (QMS) committee member contributing to institutional quality initiatives.
