Dr. Suffian Haqiem Bin Nor Azelan is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Shariah, Economics and Governance, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya. He received his secondary education at Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Negeri Sembilan before pursuing Foundation in Islamic Studies at Universiti Malaya. He later obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Shariah (Shariah and Economics) from the Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya.

He was offered a fast-track PhD programme in Shariah and Economics at Universiti Malaya under the Bumiputera Academic Training Scheme (SLAB) scholarship. From 2020 to 2024, he served as a Fellow at the Department of Shariah and Economics, APIUM.

His research interests include Islamic finance, Islamic fintech, blockchain, cryptocurrency, smart contracts, and artificial intelligence in Shariah-compliant financial systems. He actively contributes to research and publications related to the Islamic digital economy and emerging financial technologies from a Shariah perspective.
