Dr. Mohd Shahid bin Mohd Noh is a distinguished scholar and practitioner in the fields of Islamic economics, finance, and Qur’anic studies. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Muamalat Administration from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), demonstrating his expertise in the integration of economic theory with Islamic jurisprudential principles.

Dr. Shahid further advanced his specialization by obtaining a Master’s degree in Islamic Finance Practice from The Global University of Islamic Finance, focusing on Islamic banking and finance. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (Muamalah) from the International Islamic University College Selangor, equipping him with a solid grounding in business administration within an Islamic framework.

Complementing his expertise in economics and finance, Dr. Shahid has a strong academic background in Qur’anic studies. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Qiraat (Qur’anic recitation) from Maahad Qiraat Shoubra Al-Azhar and earlier obtained a Diploma in Tahfiz al-Quran wal Qiraat from Darul Quran, under the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM). This unique combination of qualifications reflects his comprehensive mastery of both classical Islamic sciences and contemporary financial disciplines.

Professionally, Dr. Shahid is actively engaged in various advisory and scholarly roles. He currently serves as a Member of the Fatwa Committee of Negeri Sembilan (since 2023), contributing to the formulation of Islamic legal rulings at the state level. He is also a Certified Shariah Advisor (CSA), affirming his credentials in Shariah governance and advisory.

His previous significant appointments include serving as part of the Shariah Advisory function at the Securities Commission (2021–2024), where he contributed to regulatory oversight and Shariah compliance in the Islamic capital market. He was also a member of the Association of Shariah Advisors in Islamic Finance (ASAS) from 2020 to 2024, engaging in professional collaboration at the international level.

In addition, Dr. Shahid has contributed to various religious and academic initiatives. He served as a Committee Member for the Negeri Sembilan Panel for the Recognition of Tahfiz al-Quran (2021–2023) and was a member of the review panel for the Sahih Muslim Translation Project in 2022. Earlier in his career, he was part of the Shariah Advisory Panel of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (2019–2021), providing guidance on Shariah-compliant financial operations.

With his strong academic foundation, extensive professional experience, and active involvement in Shariah advisory bodies, Dr. Mohd Shahid bin Mohd Noh continues to play a vital role in advancing Islamic finance and Shariah governance both in Malaysia and internationally.

His areas of expertise lie in Islamic economics and finance, with a particular focus on Islamic economic thought, Shariah issues in finance and financial technology (fintech), the exploration of Shariah principles in modern Islamic social finance, as well as Shariah issues related to the Islamic capital market and other related fields.
