Professor Dr Ilhaamie is a faculty member at the Department of Islamic Management and Finance, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur (formerly the Department of Shariah and Management). She currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Online Journal of Islamic Management and Finance (OJIMF) since 2020.

She holds a PhD (Universiti Sains Malaysia), MBA (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia), and BBA (International Islamic University Malaysia). Her research interests include human resource management, Islamic management, entrepreneurship, and service quality.

Professor Dr Ilhaamie has authored and co-authored numerous books, book chapters, journal articles, newspaper articles, and conference papers. She has presented her research in multiple countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Turkey, Australia, South Korea, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Thailand and Cambodia. She has received four Best Paper Awards at international conferences and has served as keynote speaker at international conferences in Singapore and Malaysia.

She has been recognised as Visiting Professor at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (2024), Visiting Fellow at the University of Wollongong (Australia) and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (2013), and Visiting Scholar at the International Islamic University Malaysia (2019).

Her research achievements include Diamond, Silver, and Bronze medals in national and international research poster competitions. She was awarded the Excellence Service Award by the University of Malaya in 2003, 2010, and 2018, as well as a Certificate of Excellence Service in 2011.

Professor Dr Ilhaamie is actively involved in research and academic networks, including lifetime membership in the Global Agency Research and the International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology, associate membership in the Migration Research Center, and leadership of researchers at the Islamic Management Center. She also serves as a panel reviewer and assessor for research grants, academic programs, conferences, books, theses, journal publications, and academic promotions for national and international bodies, including MQA and OECD-related evaluations.

Her administrative roles include Head of Department (2002–2003, 2008–2011), PhD Programme Coordinator (2014–2016), and Head of Unit, Leadership and Wellbeing, ADeC (2021–2022), where she led national webinars and conferences on moderation, Islamic entrepreneurship, Islamic finance, and Muslim intellectualism. She has also served as External Relations Coordinator (2001), trained government officers in moderation leadership at INTAN (2018), and acted as consultant for the Ministry of Human Resources (2024).

She is an Associate Member of the Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management and Majlis Profesor Negara, with sustained expertise in human resource management and Islamic governance.
