DR. NURULAFIQAH NADZIRAH BINTI MANSOR

Nurulafiqah Nadzirah Mansor received her Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree from Vanderbilt University, United States in 2008, double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. Shortly after came back to Malaysia, she was offered to work with Texas Instruments (M) Sdn Bhd as a Process Engineer from 2008-2014 where she has obtained an extensive experience in semiconductor manufacturing processes. She was then pursued her Master of Engineering (M.Eng) in Power System Engineering at University of Malaya, Malaysia from 2011-2013 and subsequently obtained her PhD degree from University of Manchester, United Kingdom in 2018. She is currently a senior lecturer at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Malaya. Dr Afiqah is currently active setting up her path in research particularly in power system development and operation planning, dynamic integration of renewables and low carbon-technologies, mathematical modelling and optimisation of power system, network reconfiguration, etc. At present, she has applied multiple research grants as a principle and co-investigator to expand her research works.  She is the author of multiple journals and conference proceedings published in highly reputable journals and conferences such as IEEE Transactions on Power System and conferences organized by the IEEE Power Energy System (PES). She also actively serves as reviewer for multiple international journals such as IEEE Transactions on Power Systems and IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid.

DR. FUNG HON NGEN

I am currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Science and Technology Studies, Faculty of Science, University Malaya; currently teaching Policy and Management of Sustainable Development, Sociology of Science and Research Methodology. My current research interests revolves around: Responsible Research and Innovation: Embedding Reflexivity and Social Desirability for more sustainable outcomes in Research and Innovation; Applied Scientometrics for Decision Making: Tracking and foresighting scientific and technological trends in Sustainable Development for Research Policy and Strategy; and, Science Communication: Studying Stakeholder Engagement in Science and Technology Roadmapping for Sustainable Development. My research expertise focuses on comparative case studies as well as secondary data analysis of policies, research strategies and innovation systems at the sectoral levels for Agriculture (rice, palm oil, etc.), Herbal Medicine, and Renewable Energy (hydrogen, solar, etc.). I have been involved in consultation projects such as the National Bibliometric Report 2015, and STI Indicators Report 2016. I was also the Principal Investigator for the FRGS project on "Feasibility of Smart Agriculture in ASEAN: Investigating Social Dimensions and Policy Mechanisms to Enhance Technology Adoption and Upgrading in the Rice Sector." My previous lecturing experience was in UOW Malaysia KDU University College where I was involved in leading Postgraduate by Research programmes and Research Management. Prior to my PhD, I was in Corporate Communications and Journalism specifically in the Pharma/Biotech sector, as well as in providing Analytics and Media Monitoring services at Meltwater News.

PROF. DR. JENNIFER ANN HARIKRISHNA

Prof. Dr. Jennifer Ann Harikrishna is a Professor of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics at the Faculty of Science, University of Malaya, Malaysia. Prof. Jenni is a British citizen with permanent residence status in Malaysia. After completing her Bachelor of Sciences degree in Microbiology at the University of Surrey, U.K. she was awarded a Whitbread Scholarship to pursue her doctoral thesis on the molecular genetics of industrial yeast at the Cranfield Institute of Technology, Cranfield University, U.K. She graduated in 1990 winning the Chancellors Gold Medal for the most outstanding graduate student of the year. Dr. Jenni then moved to the U.S.A. to take up a two year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Jenni moved to Malaysia in 1991 where she continued her post doctoral research at the University of Malaya, Department of Biology, before joining TropBio Research Sdn Bhd, a small private plant biotechnology company in 1996. In 2001 she joined the Institute of Bioscience at University Putra Malaysia (UPM) as an Associate Professor. Prior to re-joining the University of Malaya in 2006, Dr Jenni was an Associate Professor of Biotechnology at the Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST). Prof. Jenni became a full Professor at the University of Malaya in 2011 and holds joint positions as a member of the Faculty of Science and as the Director of the Centre for Research in Biotechnology for Agriculure (CEBAR), University of Malaya. Prof. Jenni also holds a current appointment as an Honorary Visiting Fellow in the Department of Genetics and Genome Biology at the University of Leicester, UK. Her current research focus is on functional genomics and biotechnology for tropical crop improvemnt.
