Dr. Siti Idayu Hasan is a Senior Lecturer in the Family Health Discipline at the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. After completing her PhD, she embarked on a significant journey as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UMCAS, collaborating with the International Tobacco Control project team in Canada. Her work focused on measuring the psychosocial and behavioral impact of key national-level policies under the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). She is a Fellow of Hong Kong WHO Collaborating Centre (Tobacco Control) and Committee Member of Scientific Research Tobacco Working Group (WHO FCTC Malaysia). Continuing her career, Dr. Siti Idayu became the Impact Project Manager at UMCares. In this role, she led the development and management of frameworks to monitor, evaluate, and enhance the effectiveness of community-oriented projects. Her efforts have been pivotal in ensuring that these initiatives bring about meaningful and sustainable improvements in society. Dr. Siti Idayu’s current research themes include tobacco control, mental health, and impact evaluation. Her work in tobacco control encompasses projects like Smoking Cessation, Organizing, Planning, and Execution (SCOPE), Generational Endgame (GEG), and the International Tobacco Control (ITC) project. She is also deeply involved in mental health research, aiming to address and mitigate mental health issues within the community. Beyond her research, Dr. Siti Idayu consults in the expanding field of public health, with a particular focus on tobacco control and mental health. She enjoys engaging with the community through health promotion activities, such as the Generational Endgame initiative, conducted in various settings (i.e. workplace, school and public) to raise awareness and drive positive behavioral change. Dr. Siti Idayu's commitment to improving public health is unwavering. Her work is not just about research and academia; it’s about making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and communities. She believes that through collaborative efforts and a deep-seated commitment to health promotion, we can create a healthier, more resilient future for everyone. show more »Dr. Mohd Nashrul Mohd Zubir received his B. Eng. (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering from University of Malaya (UM) in 2006. Upon graduation, he spent a short stint in SONY EMCS Malaysia as Design Engineer. He was then offered a scholarship under SLAB/SLAI fellowship program to pursue his postgraduate study in Monash University Australia where he obtained his MSc in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in 2010. Upon returning to Malaysia he further pursued his Ph.D. in heat transfer discipline at UM under similar scholarship program by which he was awarded the degree in 2015. Currently, he is an Associate Professor with University of Malaya (UM). His research interest spans from active and passive heat transfer enhancement, nanomaterial synthesis for heat transfer and gas separation applications, solar based renewable energy to fouling mitigation and desalination system. Dr. Nashrul currently has more than 100 ISI publications which mostly under Tier 1 and 2 ranking.
show more »DR. ZURAIDAH ABDULLAH is a senior lecturer in Faculty of Education, University of Malaya. She received her Ph.D. degree from the University of Malaya, in Principalship Studies in 2010. Her career began as a teacher in SMK (P) Methodist Malacca, SMK Victoria Kuala Lumpur, Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid Kedah, SMK (P) Sri Aman Selangor, and SMK USJ 23 Selangor since 1989 until 2002. She was then appointed as a Senior Assistant (Academic) in SMK Seksyen 18 Selangor from 2002 until 2004 before she pursued her studies and becoming one of the lecturers in University of Malaya. She was also attached to University of Glasgow, United Kingdom for an academic internship in 2010. Soon after, she was seconded to the Centre For Civilisitional Dialogue, University of Malaya as a Deputy Director since 2011. In the year of 2014 to 2015, she has been appointed as a coordinator, representing Univerisity of Malaya in Outdoor Education And Leadership Programme with Providence University of Taiwan. Ever since she has been focusing on promoting intercultural communication in civilisational dialogue. Her research is basically focusing on society from the perspective of education such as the issue of Professional Learning Community (PLC) in schools, Inclusive education programme, the National School Empowerment based on the PPPM 2013-2025, trans-genders, resiliency of university students and also promoting peace education to secondary level students in order to maintain peaceful and boosting unity. Currently, Dr. Zuraidah Abdullah involves in consultation project for social issues in collaboration with JAKIM, IPGM, BPSH, UNESCO Malaysia, DMDI and KPWPM. For her passion and great contribution in such critical areas, she has been conferred the Bintang Cemerlang Melaka by TYT Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka and was awarded the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC) from the Ministry of Education (MOE) of YAB Tan Sri Dato ' Haji Muhyiddin Hj Mohd Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister KPM (MOE). She received the medal for the high quality service based on her annual performance and contribution given which covers activities within and outside the Organization training, leadership and personal qualities.
