Dr. Mohamad NorTaufiq Nor Hashim is a scholar specializing primarily in Malay etymology, with further expertise in Malay language and culture, and the history of the Malay language. He obtained his PhD in Malay Linguistics from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2022, after completing a Master of Arts in 2018 and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in 2017, also in Malay Linguistics at USM. His research explores the intersections of etymology, language, culture, and history, and he has published academic works in these areas. Together with lecturers from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), he co-developed Easy Malay, an interactive smart application designed to support Chinese learners in acquiring Malay vocabulary more effectively. His international academic experience includes serving as a Lecturer at Xi’an International Studies University (2020–2025), Yunnan University (2021–2023), and Tianjin Foreign Studies University (2019–2020), as well as a Visiting Lecturer at Yunnan Uniasia International Education Center (2023). Beyond academia, he also worked as Public Relations (PR) at the Malaysia Chamber of Commerce (MAYCHAM) Xi’an, China (2024–2025), where he contributed to strengthening bilateral and academic collaborations between Malaysia and China.

Dr. Muzalwana is a senior lecturer in the Department of Decision Science, Faculty of Business and Economics (FBEcons) (formerly known as the Faculty of Economics and Administration, FEA), where she has been serving since 2011. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics with a specialization in Statistical Quality Control (SQC) from the University of Malaya. She also earned her Master’s in Applied Statistics from FEA and a BA (Hons) in Business Management from Sheffield Hallam University, UK. As an applied statistician, Dr. Muzalwana’s research is inherently interdisciplinary, focusing on Statistical Quality Control, efficiency studies, and survey research. Her work extends SQC applications beyond manufacturing to domains such as environmental studies, efficiency measurement, and social science research. Dr. Muzalwana’s primary research interest lies in developing and applying statistical control schemes to analyze environmental variables in Malaysia. Her work includes the application of control charts to gain valuable insights into COVID-19 case trends in Malaysia and to monitor air quality patterns in compliance with the Malaysian Ambient Air Quality Standards. Other notable contributions include measuring the efficiency of higher education institutions with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), exploring retirement financial planning among civil servants, and examining the relationship between household income and life satisfaction among single mothers in Malaysia. Her recent publications include Pasaran Dadah dari Perspektif Socio-ekonomi Malaysia (The Malaysian Drug Market from Socio-Economic Perspectives) and an edited volume, Post-Pandemic Economic and Social Development: Recovery, Challenges, and Policy in Malaysia. These works contribute significantly to the social sciences and public discourse on critical societal challenges. A passionate educator, Dr. Muzalwana designed the course Statistical Methods for Quality Management for the Master’s in Applied Statistics program at FBEcons and has been teaching it since 2012. With over 20 years of teaching experience, she specializes in graduate-level courses in statistical quality management and marketing research techniques, as well as undergraduate courses in statistics and management decision-making. Dr. Muzalwana has supervised more than 50 Master’s students and 14 Ph.D. candidates over the past decade, playing a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of scholars in her field.

Dr. Tang Li Yoong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing Science, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya (UM). Her academic expertise encompasses Renal Nursing, Nursing Research and Statistics, Nursing Education, and Clinical Nursing. She has extensive experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students in both clinical settings and nursing research, and has made substantial contributions to nursing education and professional practice. Since 2018, Dr. Tang has served as an Assessor for the Nursing Board Malaysia, where she plays a key role in curriculum evaluation and accreditation visits to public and private nursing institutions nationwide. Through this role, she ensures that nursing education programmes comply with professional, regulatory, and quality assurance standards, while remaining responsive to the evolving needs of the healthcare system. Dr. Tang’s research portfolio demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing nursing education, patient safety, and healthcare quality. She has led and co-led several funded research projects, including studies on online learning in nursing education (PV039-2021) and psychosocial and behavioural interventions for infection prevention in intensive care units (TR001A-2020). She is currently the Principal Investigator of a Green Health and Sustainability research project, which aims to integrate sustainable practices into nursing education and healthcare delivery in alignment with global sustainability goals. In addition, she has contributed as a co-researcher to multiple university- and nationally funded research grants. In terms of academic leadership and administration, Dr. Tang has held several key positions, including Head of the Department of Nursing Science (January 2024–December 2025), Programme Head for the Bachelor of Nursing Science (2013–2023), and member of the Public University Nursing Board. She has also served as course coordinator for core nursing courses, notably Nursing Research and Statistics, reflecting her commitment to academic excellence and curriculum quality. Dr. Tang is actively engaged in departmental and university-level task forces and committees, contributing to policy formulation, curriculum enhancement, and academic governance. She is a dedicated postgraduate supervisor, providing active supervision to Master’s and PhD students, and a mentor to early-career researchers, supporting research capacity building within the nursing profession.
