PROF. DR. IDA NORMIHA BINTI HILMI

Ida HILMI is a Professor and Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Prof Ida Hilmi graduated with first class honours from the University of Glasgow in 1997. She went on to do her training in internal medicine in Oxford and obtained her Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP) in 2000. She then joined the Northeast London Gastroenterology and Hepatology specialist program before returning to Malaysia in 2003. She is the current Chair of the National Gastroenterology and Hepatology Training Committee as well as the President for the Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (MSGH) and the President for the Malaysian Society for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (MyIBD). Her other positions include Honorary Secretary for the Asian Education Network in IBD (IBD-AEN), Board member of the Asian Organization for Crohn’s and Colitis (AOCC); council member as well as member for the Women and Leadership in GI Taskforce for the Asian Pacific Association of Gastroenterology (APAGE), the South East Asian representative for the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) Global Taskforce, member of the Asian EUS group (AEG) and the Malaysian lead for the IBD Emerging Nations Consortium (IBD-ENC). Her past positions include Head of the Department of Medicine, Head of Division in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Director of Endoscopy in University of Malaya. She is part the National Colorectal Cancer Taskforce and is a trustee for the Journal of Hepatology and Gastroenterology Foundation (JGHF) which is involved in medical research, education and training in gastroenterology and hepatology within the Asia-Pacific region. Professor Ida Hilmi’s principal area of research is the epidemiology of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in emerging nations which includes a recent landmark study looking at the global evolution of IBD published in Nature.

DR. MOHD NORBAYUSRI BIN BAHARUDIN

At Universiti Malaya, Dr. Mohd Norbayusri Baharudin serves as a senior lecturer in the Department of Social Administration and Justice. His primary areas of specialization encompass prison and correctional administration, the rehabilitation and treatment of offenders, community corrections, group-based approaches to therapeutic communities, substance abuse counseling, quantitative research methods, and covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM). He has received advanced training at Daytop Village Inc. in New York, USA, focusing on drug addiction treatment, as well as at the Brush Farm Corrective Services Academy in New South Wales, Australia, specializing in correctional administration. Prior to his academic career, he dedicated two decades to the Malaysian Prisons Department, where he served as a prison officer, rehabilitation officer, and policymaker. Recently, Dr. Norbayusri has contributed to media discussions on the Pelaksanaan Akta Tahanan Rumah (Implementation of the House Detention Act). PROFESSOR IR. DR. KAMARUL ARIFFIN BIN NOORDIN

Dr. Kamarul Ariffin Noordin is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of wireless communications, with a decade-long focus on advancing communication technologies through impactful research and international collaborations. Since 2014, he has served as principal or co-principal investigator for competitive research grants totaling over RM1.4 million from esteemed bodies such as the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, the EPSRC UK, and UAE University. He is currently a Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Malaya. His research has spanned a range of groundbreaking topics, including seamless mobile communication in heterogeneous networks, device-to-device communications for disaster management, and dynamic resource allocation using AI and UAVs for future 5G/6G networks. A notable highlight was his role in a three-year Global Challenges Research Fund project with the University of Surrey and other UK institutions, where he led efforts to develop emergency communication strategies in disaster zones. Dr. Kamarul has published over 70 papers in reputable ISI-indexed journals and conferences. His collaborative works include research with scholars from Vietnam, the UK, Norway, Greece, and the UAE, with contributions to emerging topics such as NOMA, SWIPT, and AI-driven wireless systems. His growing international visibility has led to increasing PhD supervision requests and global research partnerships.
