ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. THAMIL SELVI A/P VELAYUTHAM

Dr Thamil Selvi Velayutham completed her PhD in 2010 from the Department of Physics, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. Presently, she is an Associate Professor in the same department, specializing in material physics. Her research delves into various materials including polymers, ceramics, and their composites, exploring their functional traits like dielectric, ferroelectric, pyroelectric, and piezoelectric. Dr Velayutham is deeply engaged in investigating soft matter, employing a cohesive blend of experimental and theoretical approaches to understand their phase behaviour, structure, and statistical physics. Her contributions have been acknowledged through prestigious recognitions, including the Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science year 2020, the 22nd Journal of Oleo Science Editor's Impact Award, and honorary appointments as a Research Fellow at the University of Aberdeen in 2018 and 2022. Additionally, she has held the role of Editor for the Rheology Journal since 2020.

PROF. DR. SEE MEE HOONG

Professor Dr. See Mee-Hoong Professor Dr. See Mee-Hoong is a senior lecturer at the University of Malaya and a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC). She graduated from UPM in 2003 and obtained her Master of Surgery (General Surgery) from the University of Malaya in 2011. She completed her Breast Oncoplastic Fellowship training at Universiti Malaya and Mahidol University, Thailand (2012–2015), and is nationally registered as a Breast Oncoplastic Surgeon. She joined the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya in 2012 as a clinical lecturer specializing in Breast Oncoplastic Surgery. She further enhanced her expertise as an honorary fellow at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, in 2013, and completed advanced training in minimally invasive techniques and cryoablation at Kameda Medical Centre, Japan, in 2016. In 2022, she undertook robotic breast surgery training at Chang Hua Christian Medical Centre, Taiwan. Professor Dr. See currently leads the General Surgery Division this year (2026) and the Breast and Endocrine Unit at UMMC , driving minimally invasive and robotic surgery across specialties in collaboration with the Robotic Surgery Taskforce (Prof. Ong Teng Aik). She is also the former Deputy Head of the Visibility Unit (VicFOM) and leads the taskforce for subspecialty training curriculum review. Her research interests include Clinical Breast Surgical Oncology, Oncoplastic Surgery, Minimally Invasive and Robotic Breast Surgery, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), Intraoperative Radiotherapy (IORT), and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning in breast cancer diagnostics and treatment planning. She has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers, developed decision aids in breast reconstruction, and leads AI-driven clinical research. She is one of the country leads for the TARGIT-B trial in Malaysia with Prof. Nur Aishah, in collaboration with Prof. Jayant Vaidya (UCL, UK), and collaborates with Kyungpook National University, South Korea (Prof. Ho Yong Park, Prof. Kim, A/P Jeeyeon Lee) on AI applications in breast cancer diagnostics. She also works with Cancer Research Malaysia on clinical trials including ARICA and familial breast cancer risk score calculation. A strong advocate for regional collaboration, she leads the Asian Breast Surgery Forum (ABSF – an ECHO Project) with the University of New Mexico’s Project ECHO®, connecting 12 Asian countries to promote knowledge exchange and best practices. She is actively involved in the International Oncoplastic Breast Surgery (IOPBS) and International Endoscopic and Robotic Breast Surgery (IERBS) societies. She is determined to improve clinical care, surgical outcomes, education, and research in breast and general surgery both regionally and globally.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. NOOR ADWA BINTI SULAIMAN

Associate Professor Dr. Noor Adwa's research investigates the convergence of auditing, governance, and financial reporting, employing qualitative methods (interviews) and quantitative approaches (archives and surveys), alongside diverse theoretical frameworks (institutional, legitimacy, power, attribution, and agency). Her research covers subjects such as digitalisation (audit data analytics and artificial intelligence), sustainability assurance, the efficacy of audit committees and other boards, audit quality, the effectiveness of internal audits, external audit legislation, and auditor reporting. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed research articles and co-authored books and book chapters. Her work aims to advance the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions; and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
