PROF. DR. NURUL SHAHNAZ BINTI AHMAD MAHDZAN

Dr. Nurul Shahnaz Ahmad Mahdzan is a Professor and served as the Head at the Department of Finance, Faculty of Business & Economics, University of Malaya from 2019-2023. She obtained her PhD from the Nottingham University Business School, UK; MBA (with Distinction) from the University of Malaya; and BBA (Finance) (Summa Cum Laude) from Ohio University, USA. Her research passion is in the area of Consumer Finances, particularly on the issues of financial behaviour and economic psychology of households - this includes their financial literacy, financial well-being, fintech adoption, financial attitudes, saving behaviour, investment risk-taking behaviour, and gullibility to financial fraud victimisation. She also has an interest in studies related to the financial services industry, particularly in insurance and risk management. Her current research project involves FinTech usage among millenials and the Gen X's and how this impacts financial well-being. Recently, she was invited as a Plenary Speaker at the National Financial Literacy Symposium (NFLS 2023) to share her views on the state of financial literacy and financial well-being among Malaysians. She has also appeared in numerous national TV, radio and print media where her views on personal finance and economic issues have been sought. She has been appointed as a panel of assessor for the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) research grants since year 2020 to date. Additionally, she has been invited to speak on several local industrial platforms on the topic of Consumer Finances. She has been invited as guest speaker at international symposiums and platforms that discuss financial and economic issues pertaining to the Malaysian context. Her deep interest and engagement in the area of Consumer Finances stems from her ten-year experience working in financial services, where she mainly dealt with consumers and their personal finances. It was then that her passion the area began and continues till today, as reflected in her research, publications and other activities.

DR. SHAHNAZ BINTI MOHD BALDEV SHAH

A Senior Lecturer at the Department of Drama, Faculty of Creative Arts. An alumnus of the Cultural Centre, University of Malaya with a background in dance and drama. Specialize in Drama/Theatre (in) education, Arts-Management and Cross/inter-Disciplinary Exchange. My research at the postgraduate level concentrated on the use of drama and performance for the second (English) language classroom which identified its related set of challenges and possibilities. I further obtained a PhD in Theatre Studies from the University of Warwick in which my thesis examined the nature of MAKUM Theatre Festival as a form of university theatre modelled by the Creative Campus. One of the aims of this endeavor was to document theatre as conceptualized and fashioned by the general division of arts and non-arts students. I thus engage in arts (theatre) management and drama for education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and currently serves as Postgraduate Program Coordinator. My research interest lies in the application of drama and theatre as creative, innovative and alternative method to teaching and learning, as well as further developments in drama with technology for advancement. Central to my studies is the role of drama/theatre for human development, focusing on issues that relate to dramatic and theatrical application within and outside the field. Along this line is the significant impact of the performing arts on doers (performers) as well as observers (audience). Experienced in mixed-method research, instrumentation design, and continuously seeks opportunities for collaborative and cooperative efforts for the further expansion of drama/theatre application, both formal and informal, in and outside academia.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. MARYANI BINTI MOHAMED ROHANI

Dr. Maryani Mohamed Rohani is an esteemed Associate Professor in Special Care Dentistry (SCD), Associate Dean of Community and Industry Relations, Head of SCD at the Department of Paediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia.  She holds a Doctor in Clinical Dentistry (Special Needs Dentistry) from the University of Melbourne, Australia (2014), and a Bachelor in Dental Surgery from Universiti Malaya (2007). Her research expertise spans SCD, dental education, oral health, sports dentistry, palliative care, geriatric dentistry and behavior management. Dr. Mohamed Rohani is recognized for her commitment to promoting equality in oral health and dental education for future dental clinicians and specialists, ensuring better outcomes for individuals with special needs. As an educator, she plays a pivotal role in mentoring and guiding aspiring dental professionals, shaping the future of dentistry in Malaysia. Her dedication to fostering a supportive learning environment has earned her widespread respect within the dental community. Dr. Mohamed Rohani's contributions have garnered significant recognition, reflecting her impact on advancing dental education and care for individuals with special needs. Her work continues to inspire and influence the next generation of dental professionals.
