Dr. Anand Ramanathan graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Saveetha Dental College & Hospital under The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, India in 2002. He then pursued his Master of Dental Surgery, specializing in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology at Rajah Muthiah Dental Collage & Hospitals, Annamalai University, Chidambaram, India in 2009. He then migrated to Malaysia where he did his spouse program at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya to obtain his practicing license in Malaysia in 2011. From 2009 to 2011 during his spouse program he was actively involved in research with Oral Cancer Research & Coordinating Center (OCRCC), Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya. His passion for teaching and research led him to join the Faculty of Dentistry, here at University Malaya and he has since become a valuable senior lecturer and clinical specialist in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Clinical Sciences. He has been the module head of various integrated modules such as oral malignancy & potentially malignant disorders, tumours and tumour-like lesions of the jaws and undergraduate discipline coordinator for oral medicine and oral pathology. He has been a member of curriculum review for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in oral pathology and oral medicine at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya. He is also a trainer of the OralDetect which is a training and calibration program for early detection of oral cancer and oral potentially malignant disorders. He has successfully conducted OralDetect program in Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Nepal and India training undergraduate students, general dentist, postgraduate students and various specialist in dentistry. He is an adjunct faculty member in Faculty of Dentistry, University of Puthisastra, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Tagore Dental College and Hospital, Sri Ramachandra University Dental College and Hospital and Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital, Chennai, India. An ardent researcher, he has 54 papers in indexed international peer reviewed journals, with a h-index of 11. He is involved in numerous research projects and has supervised PhD, Masters and graduate research students for the past 10 years. He was awarded the outstanding researcher in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology at the 3rd Venus International Healthcare Awards 2020 (VIHA, 2020) by the Venus International Foundation. He also received the Sijil Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (Certificate of Excellent Service) by University of Malaya in 2021. He is currently an active member of OCRCC, Malaysian Association for Orofacial Diseases and Asian Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology. His research interest are oral cancer, oral potentially malignant disorders, oral pathology, oral medicine, immunohistochemistry, adjunct diagnostic tools, natural products and drug toxicity, oncoimmunology, homeobox genes and odontogenic lesions.
show more »Dr Shamshul Bahri received his PhD from Brunel University, London, his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Malaya, and his Bachelor of Business Adminstration (BBA) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi. Before joining University of Malaya in 2000, he worked as an officer at the New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd, Jalan Riong Bangsar. There, he assisted the Central Region Circulation Manager in coordinating the Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, and Kelang circulation offices. He lead the Department of Operations and Management Information Systems, Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya in two stints: 2011 to 2014 and 2018-2019. His speciality is in the area of information systems (IS), especially IS implementation, payment systems, healthcare information systems, and social media. His current research interests lie in the area of finance technology (Fintech) and big data analytics. He was a Visiting Fellow at the School of Information Systems and Technology Management, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia in 2014 and a Visiting Professor at Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, Indonesia, in 2020. As an academic, Dr Shamshul had scored many firsts. He was the first academic from Malaysia's public universities to co-chair the program committee of the Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS). It happened in the conference's 21st edition (2017) held in Langkawi Island, Malaysia. He was also the first from Malaysia's public universities to be selected as an associate editor (the Human Behavior and IS Track) at the premier International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) when it was held in 2014 in Auckland, New Zealand. He was also the first from Malaysian universities to get the outputs from his joint-research with colleagues from UNSW and NUS, published in the Information Systems Journal (ISJ) and European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS). The two journals are listed in the "IS senior scholars' basket of eight" publications considered to be the most prestigious in the field of information systems. He is also currently a senior editor for the Pacific Asia Journal of Information Systems (PAJAIS) and an editorial member for the International Journal of Computer Theory and Engineering. In recognition of his contribution to the Association for the Information Systems (AIS) and to the field, especially in the Asia-Pacific region, he was recently awarded by the Association for Information Systems (AIS) the title of "Distinguished Member of the AIS", the first, and currently the only academic from Malaysian universities to receive the honour. show more »Harikrishnan Ramiah is currently a Professor at Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Malaya, working in the area of RFIC/RFEH design. He received his B.Eng(Hons), MSc and PhD degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, in the field of Analog and Digital IC design from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2000, 2003 and 2008 respectively. In the year 2003, he was with SiresLabs Sdn. Bhd, CyberJaya, Malaysia. At the year 2002 he was attached to Intel Technology Sdn. Bhd. Harikrishnan was the recipient of Intel Fellowship Grant Award, 2000-2008. Harikrishnan is the Director of the Centre of Industry Research 4.0 (CRI 4.0) and the Head of Analog, Digital & RF Research group at University of Malaya. His work revolves in providing expert solution to industry in the strength of IR 4.0. Through CRI 4.0, he regulates expert collaborative effort of the faculties in University of Malaya outsourcing solution to SME and MNC. He had produced silicon verified IPs in the field of Analog, RF and RFEH Integrated Circuit Design. With a reputable research output and solution, he has secured several international, national and industrial grant from the year 2014 till date. He serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE Access in a recognition towards his research credibility. He is a Chartered Engineer and the Fellow of Institute of Electrical Technology (IET). He is also a Professional Engineer registered under the Board of Engineers, Malaysia. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE) and member of The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE). His research work has resulted in several reputable technical publications in the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. His main research interest includes Analog Integrated Circuit Design, RFIC Design, VLSI system design and RF/Piezoelectric/Thermal/Electromagnetic Energy Harvesting Power Management Module Design.
