DR. MOHAMMED H. M. AL-AQAD

  I am currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Hashim Sani Centre for Palestine Studies, Universiti Malaya. My primary research interests lie in the fields of translation studies, applied linguistics, and education technology, with a particular focus on the intersections between translation, artificial intelligence, and language education. I have also authored several works on Palestine, contributing to the academic discourse on the region's language, culture, and translation practices. In addition to my research, I have been an invited speaker and presenter at over 45 international conferences globally, where I share my expertise in translation and applied linguistics. I am a seasoned interpreter with over 150 conferences and events in my background, which informs my academic work and deepens my understanding of the practical challenges in translation and communication. I am the founder and CEO of the Asian Federation of Translators and Interpreters in Malaysia, an organization dedicated to advancing the field of translation and interpretation across the region. I also serve on the editorial boards of the Cambridge Scholars of Language & Linguistics (UK) and the International Journal of Applied Linguistics and Translation (USA), where I contribute to the development of scholarship in these fields. Throughout my career, I have published numerous peer-reviewed papers, books, and book chapters, with a particular focus on the intersection of linguistics, technology, and translation. My academic work continues to be shaped by my passion for advancing language education and promoting cross-cultural understanding.

DR. CHAN WAH LOONG

Dr. Chan Wah Loong received his M.D. certificate in 2014 from Universiti Sains Malaysia and has completed his specialty training in internal Medicine at University of Malaya. He has earned distinction in the final part of his MMed Master in Internal Medicine training. He is a passionate doctor who has a strong interest in research, publications, and journalism involving topics in various subspecialties of internal medicine especially Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He was the Head Of Department and Internal Medicine Specialist in Hospital Keningau from 2023-2024. He was also the Head of Antimicrobial Stewardship and specialist in charge of Infectious Control Unit for Kluster Keningau, Sabah. He is currently a trainee in Gastroenterology and Hepatology under Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya.

DR. NURDIANA BINTI NORDIN

Dr.-Ing Nurdiana Nordin is a passionate chemist and interdisciplinary researcher who is driven by the mission to bridge cutting-edge science with real-world solutions. She earned her B.Sc. in Pure Chemistry (2012) and M.Sc. in Organic Synthesis and Computational Chemistry (2015) from the University of Malaya, supported by the SLAB scholarship. Her scientific journey continued in Germany at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where she completed her Ph.D. in 2020 under the Bio-Interfaces International Graduate School (BIF-IGS). There, she honed her expertise in NMR technology, microfluidic device fabrication, and bioorganic analysis under the mentorship of leading experts from the Institute of Microstructure Technology (IMT) and the Institut für Biologische Grenzflächen (IBG). Throughout her career, Dr. Nurdiana has demonstrated a unique ability to merge fundamental science with technological innovation. From developing microscale biomedical systems to exploring metabolic pathways using micro-NMR platforms, her work reflects a deep commitment to impactful research. Now serving as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, University of Malaya, she envisions building a dynamic research team focused on smart, sustainable solutions for societal challenges—particularly in the fields of healthcare, agriculture, and environmental monitoring. Guided by Malaysia's national development goals and sustainable technology agendas, her team aims to harness advanced materials, biosensing tools, and green chemistry to create intelligent systems that benefit both industry and community. With an eye on translational impact, Dr. Nurdiana is committed to cultivating interdisciplinary collaborations and training the next generation of researchers who are not only skilled in science, but also grounded in empathy, innovation, and service to the nation.
