Nurul Liyana Mohd KAMIL is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour, Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia.She is currently a Postdoctoral Visiting Fellow at the Department of Management, the London School of Economics and Political Sciences in the United Kingdom. She holds a PhD in Human Resource Management from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Master of Business Administration from Universiti Teknologi MARA, and Bachelor of Business Administration (with Honours) in Human Resource Management from Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia. Her primary research interests include leadership, work engagement, employees' well-being and work performance. She presently serves as the Associate Editor for Institute and Economies Journal and the Membership Officer for the Asia Pacific Academy for Psychosocial Factors at Work (www.apapfaw.org). She was awarded an ERASMUS+ grant and worked as a Visiting Lecturer at Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania as part of the Staff Mobility for Teaching Programme. show more »Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chew Fong Peng is the Chair for Hub of Language, Innovation and Teaching, Department of Language and Literacy Education, Faculty of Education, University of Malaya (UM). She is a multilingual lecturer and specializes in Malay Studies. She teaches the Malay language education, Chinese language education, and Early Childhood Education. With over two decades of experience in the field, she has presented more than 170 academic papers at national and international conferences across Asia, Europe, and North America, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Greece, Japan, China, South Korea, and Southeast Asia. Her extensive scholarly contributions include over 150 journal articles, 9 authored books, 67 conference proceedings, 36 book chapters, 10 edited books, and 20 translated works, spanning both academic and creative domains. As a committed editor, she has served as book editor for Taylor & Francis and contributed to national textbook development, notably as editor for Malaysian Year 4–6 History textbooks and Year 1 Art and Music Education. She has led or participated in 19 research projects, 8 of which she served as Principal Investigator. Her achievements have been recognized through numerous academic awards, including the University of Malaya Outstanding Service Award (2008), and multiple inclusions in Marquis Who's Who in the World (2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017–2019). She was also honoured with the 2000 Intellectuals of the 21st Century Award (2011) and named The World Outstanding Researcher (2013). In 2011–2012, she was appointed Visiting Professor at Peking University, China. She regularly reviews for internationally indexed journals such as Asia Pacific Education Researcher, Asia Pacific Journal of Education, SAGE Open, Educational Research and Reviews, British Journal of Education, Society & Behavioural Science, and International Journal of Psychology and Counselling, as well as Malaysia-based journals like Pertanika, GEMA Online, and Kemanusiaan. A respected figure in both academic and cultural spheres, Dr. Chew is also known for her public recitations of Malay poetry at state and national events, reflecting her commitment to preserving linguistic heritage. She continues to contribute actively to scholarly research, postgraduate supervision, educational innovation, and international academic exchange.
show more »Dr. Song Sze Looi is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS), Universiti Malaya, specialising in Phylogenomics and eDNA Metagenomics. She obtained her PhD in the field of Algal Biotechnology in 2013. Following her doctorate, she was appointed as a Postdoctoral Researcher on a high-impact research project in Molecular Phylogenetics and Systematics. In 2016, she took on the role of Research Fellow, focusing on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Bioinformatics. In 2019, Dr. Song joined the China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences (CAMS) at Xiamen University Malaysia as an Assistant Professor. She returned to Universiti Malaya in 2021 and currently serves as the Program Coordinator for the Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) and the Program Director for Future Studies. Dr. Song’s research integrates high-throughput sequencing technologies and advanced analytical tools to explore the evolutionary relationships and biodiversity of a wide range of organisms, including both marine and terrestrial taxa. Her projects examined the phylogenetic and phylogeographic structures of biota of economic, agriculture and public health importance, such as seaweeds, parasites, insects, and vertebrates, as well as microbial communities associated with host organisms and environmental samples. She has published over 60 WoS–indexed journal articles. In addition, she has led or contributed to numerous research projects funded by national, international, and industry bodies, including the Japan Toray Science Foundation, the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), the National Conservation Trust Fund (NCTF), and a Petronas-funded project in collaboration with UCSI University. Her recent work focuses on the application of eDNA for assessing marine biodiversity and ecosystem health, particularly in sensitive estuarine and coastal habitats. Her research excellence has been recognized (1) through multiple awards, including being a co-recipient of the Malaysia Toray Science Foundation 2023 Science and Technology Award, and (2) as a lead speaker at conferences.
