Biography | |
Dr. Norazlin has a diverse background in unit trust industry spanning legal and compliance, marketing and business development, and project management. She holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from the International Islamic University of Malaysia, a Master of Economics from the University of Malaya, and a PhD in Accounting & Finance from the University of Glasgow. Her doctoral research explored Islamic finance, focusing on the intersections of the Islamic capital market, political economy, social theories, and sentiment analysis. Her current research reflects a strong commitment to advancing knowledge at the nexus of Islamic finance, economics, and sustainability. She focuses on critical areas such as green innovation, ESG performance, and the development of carbon markets to support a carbon-neutral future. Her work also delves into the transformative potential of Islamic finance in promoting ethical and inclusive financial practices. Additionally, Dr. Norazlin champions practical and inclusive economic empowerment initiatives, such as training programs for rural communities and wellness entrepreneurship, aiming to bridge gaps in socio-economic development. She warmly invites PhD candidates who are passionate about these areas to join her in exploring innovative solutions and driving impactful research.
