Nur Hairani Abd Rahman is a Senior Lecturer in Public Policy and Administration. She joined Universiti Malaya as an academic staff in 2017. She holds a PhD in Public Policy from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Master of Public Administration from Universiti Malaya and Bachelor of Social Science (with Honours) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Her research interest includes public policy and administration, where much attention is given to social policy area (social care, care system and governance, social inclusion / exclusion, inequality, wellbeing). She is the Associate Editor for Journal of Public Administration and Governance and Editorial Board Member for Malaysian Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities. She is also a member of Social Policy Association (United Kingdom). She is currently appointed as the Mobility Programme Coordinator for Faculty of Business and Economics and Coordinator for Master of Public Administration (MPA). She also has been appointed to sit on several committees at faculty and university level. Besides that, at national level, she has been appointed as Field Expert of the Malaysian Research and Development Classification System (MRDCS), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and consultant for project under the theme of poverty eradication funded by Economic Planning Unit, Government of Malaysia. She was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Messina, Sicily, Italy. She has received several awards including Excellent Service Award (2022), Certificate of Excellent Service (2021) (awarded by the Universiti Malaya) and Best Presenter Award at Asian Universities Alliance & Universitas Indonesia (2021). Her most recent publications have appeared in journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus such as Public Policy and Administration, Ageing International and The Journal of Infection in Developing Countries.
