Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nur Hairani Abd Rahman is Head of the Department of Political Science, Public Administration and Development Studies at Universiti Malaya. She specialises in public policy, governance, and social policy, especially ageing, social care, and inequality. She has contributed to national policy development as a Consultant reviewing the Thirteenth Malaysia Plan (RMK-13) and as Technical Advisor for the Graduate Employability Strategic Plan 2026–2030. A 2023 Fulbright Fellow at UC Berkeley and a 2025 Emerald Literati Award winner, she is now extending her research into digital governance and responsible AI in the public sector. Her work builds evidence for future-ready public institutions and inclusive, resilient social systems.
