Dr. Mohd Nazri Abdul Rahman is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education and the Head of the Community Transformation Division, Community Engagement Centre (UMCares), at Universiti Malaya. He began his career as a teacher (Guru Cemerlang) at SM St. Mary, Sandakan (1998–2007), before serving as a Pensyarah Cemerlang at the Teacher Education Institute, Kent Campus, Sabah (2008–2014), and later at the Teacher Education Institute, Tuanku Bainun Campus, Penang (2015). In November 2015, he joined the Faculty of Education, Universiti Malaya. He holds a PhD in Curriculum Design and Development from Universiti Malaya. He is actively involved in research and publications in the areas of early childhood education, homeschooling, indigenous education, and teaching and learning innovation. He is particularly well known for developing a homeschooling model for Orang Asli children, which has reframed conventional approaches to teaching Orang Asli learners by leveraging the strengths of alternative education in Malaysia. His scholarly works have been published in both Malaysian and international journals. He has also authored several books, including Pendidikan Alternatif Homeschooling, Design and Developmental Research, and Kurikulum: Satu Disiplin yang Dinamik. Dr. Mohd Nazri has received numerous recognitions for his teaching and research achievements, including the Faculty of Education Excellent Postgraduate Student Award (2014), Excellent Thesis Award (2014), Anugerah Cemerlang Universiti Malaya (Penyelidik Muda) (2018), Anugerah Jalinan Masyarakat UMCares (2017), Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (2004, 2007, 2010 & 2020), and Sijil Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (2023). He is also a recipient of the Anugerah Guru Inovatif Kebangsaan in 2003, 2004, and 2006 for his teaching and learning innovation projects. In addition, he has been involved in consultancy projects and research related to bullying, community engagement, and future education.
